I saw where Fedora made 800k last year, we may have to match that or more! I would think Hud will be a serious canidate.

Hud's announcement that "I'm going to coach the Cajuns next year" means nothing if Southern Miss and Miss St open up.
Jmo
I actually think the pay difference for Hud to be starting over at a new school would be negligible while he's building something here. That doesn't mean that if an AQ school offers, he won't go, the money is just to good, but for the time being, I think Hud is safe. Now if MSU opens up, I'm gonna huddle in my closet for a month and pray.
I doubt HUD would go to usm. Hattiesburg is a bump in the road armpit that is in the middle of nothing, its only saving grace are the interstates that help to make for quicker exits. The campus is shoewedged in town and looks like something that got dumped there with no thought, the westher is always crappy with all of the states bad weather settling in a line from hattiesburg up to jackson and except for Fedora noone has been able to do anything with that team.
I just don't see HUD putting himself or his family through that for a little more money.
I also don't see 2 sbc coaches going to the sec in one year. sec thinks it so superior to others that they would not like the image of 2 "lowly" conference coaches moving into their sandbox
If Fedora made 800k last year, do you think that is what they would offer Hud? No, they would offer less, say something in the 600k range ... wait, isn't that what his new contract at UL will be for.
He won't leave for USM for the money ... our admin made sure of that!
I agree with Moorecajun. I don't see Hud going to USM for that kind of money differential. If he would rather be coaching anywhere in MS (MSU/USM) than here or anywhere else, then the money won't really be the issue. I agree that the job at USM is step up from UL right now, but I don't see it as that large of a step up for Hud. Especially if his ultimate goal is to go to MSU. And especially with the way this program is headed with him here. I just don't see $100-200K being a difference maker at this point. I also believe Hud is more principled than that. JMHO
Following up on initial rumors that Southern Miss coach Larry Fedora would take the job at North Carolina, two sources have confirmed to our own John Taylor that Fedora has been offered and has accepted the job at UNC. An official announcement ...
Let the melt down begin
Not worried, with Hud's pay raise, I think hes fine right here unless the MSU job comes available.
I agree. Sometimes a little less money in the front end and job security means more.
