Mathieu has been pretty amazing, but I"m not sure if he is the best DB in LSU's backfield.

Love your posts, but you need to go back & watch those punt returns from last night again. I see your point & like I said RGIII is a monster. I still think Mathieu is the best & biggest impact player in college football & would be penalized for being a defensive player & being on such a great team.
Now, this is a problem. You could ask ten different people & come up with 5 different answers about who their favorite LSU DB is, kinda like UL. With RB or especially QB there is that ONE guy. This in itself is what makes it so hard for a traditional defensive player to win the thing. I'll say this. Mathieu should certainly get consideration, but I would like to see RG get it. I know the powers that be will kiss up to Saban & give it to Richardson though.
I think there are enough voters on the Left Coast to put Luck in the top spot.
As for Mathieu, he is the best football player on LSU's team, but not the best DB. Funny how that can happen.
RG3 deserves it but his team isn't high profile enough.
Mathieu's second punt return last night was sick. Who cares who wins the heisman. Geno Torreta won a heisman, Payton manning did not. It really means squat. Id prob vote for the badger based upon how many times he made me say "holy shxx" on one run.
Best player? Andrew Luck.
MVP? RG
Most exciting, definitely mathieu.
