I think Charles Tillman may have a great career though. I'm a big Jake fan as well.

As far as careers go at this moment in time I'd vote Brian Mitchell... future hall of famer.

I had to vote for Damon Mason he holds the record for most tackles in AFL (Arena Football League) History 727.5 the best in the history of his sport. (not too mention I loved watching that lil bitty dude light people up in the swamp)

I'm not saying he gets my final vote but how about this for a "bookend" career.

Year 1 (1990): Brian Mitchell, (a rookie) is suddenly inserted at quarterback and completes 50% of his passes while scoring a rushing TD. Because all the QB's were lost, the 1990 Monday night game between the Redskins and Eagle came to be known as the body bag game.

Year 14 (2003): Set a Gaints record with 1,117 kickoff return yards. In the last game of his career he once again found himself playing the quarterback position and rushed the ball 3 times for 19 yards an average of 6.3 yards. Overall in that last game he had 166 all purpose yards.

I'm not saying Marvin Winkler gets my final vote but how about this for a quickie "bookend" career.

By the time Marvin Winkler turned 24 he had an NBA championship ring and an ABA runner up accomplishment on his record.

Marvin only played professional basketball 2 years, and a 1, 2 finish. Not many players can tout a runner up finish and a title for two different teams in two different leagues in just two years of playing.

In 1970-71 Marv played for the NBA Champ Milwaukee Bucks only scoring 8 points but since it came in a total of 14 minutes of play it comes out to an average of 23 points per 40 minutes of play.

In 1971-72 Marv played for the ABA runner up Indiana Pacers scoring 40 points in a total of 155 minutes of play it comes out to an average of 10 points per 40 minutes of play.

Not a bad pro career. Not a long lasting career, not personally super productive, but he sure seemed to be in the right place at the right time. I can only imagine that if he started out on a bad team his career might have lasted longer.

Pretty good selection. Toney was an impact player with the Sixers, helping lead them to an NBA championship. I just think the foot problems ended his pro career too early. Main reason I'd go with Brian Mitchell.

Brian Mitchell is going to be an NFL Hall of Famer. He's had the best pro career.

I agree that Brian is headed for the NFL Hall Of Fame, but Louisiana Lightning will always be the best pro from The Ragin Cajuns simply because of where he came from to where he got

OK, so Andrew Toney and Ron Guidry and Brian Mitchell had great careers, but where are they now? Leigh Hennessy, on the other hand, is still going strong. She won more national championships than any other woman and was a trampoline world champion so many times that even she claims to have lost count. She's used her athletic skills to create a career as a stuntwoman in Hollywood and has been seen in dozens of movies and TV shows. Her athletic skills really come into play in the Kevin Costner movie "The Guardian" that opens September 15, 2006; she's the drowning woman in the five-minute opening scene. So my vote goes to Leigh, not just for what she did to promote USL as a world-class athlete, but also because she is still using her athletic skills to make a living and still has only good things to say about the university and Lafayette.
