If there is an assistant coach of the year I think one to be considered is Munoz and the absolutely incredible job with the receivers he has done---No drops, great blocking, and great routes---What an improvement!!!!

I think you ask the new HC to meet with the remaining members of the old staff and consider them for positions on the new staff but I think you need to leave the decisions up to him. Hud ultimately went with guys (for the most part) that he had some previous working experience with. That includes Coach Rebowe from the previous staff. Then when a few of his first choices fell through (OC and WR come to mind) he widened his search. In the end I think that is best because the staff all has to be on the same page.
Personally, this is a long the lines of what I was thinking. I do believe that if we lost a coach in the situation many are thinking of, we may be in a very good situation to keep several of our assistants. This would be another very valuable asset for a new incoming coach to keep the train going in the right direction. This is the biggest part of program building IMO.
TooLame has taken the leftover approach seveal times. Never been good for them. On the other hand Larry Smith, Mac Brown, and Tommy Bowden has been the right approach. Hire a young talented hungry man, never a a guy who has failed and is looking to run out the string.
Know this.
With the RCAF in place and growing, Hud having proved that this place is a launching pad, and the fan support that few non-AQ league schools can boast about, the next coaching search at Louisiana is going to be an embarrassment of riches.
Farmers phone will not stop ringing until the replacement is named, and then, we will be picking up right where Hud left off.
This train will not be stopped.
