Big loss and a true legend. Supporter of UL and many other causes. Condolences to his family.

Legend is a word overused but in the case of Red, it is most appropriate. As someone who has frequented that place several times a week for over 22 years, this hits hard. He and all his employees made sure to greet you with a welcoming smile when you walked in. I was also his granddaughter’s bowling coach when she was in HS. She was the best bowler on the team at that time. I am sure Mark Lerille will keep the tradition going of that place being one of the top facilities of it’s type in the nation

I, like so many other members, enjoyed getting to visit with Red when he was at the front desk. I was honored that Red called me his friend. Lafayette loses a huge part of what makes us a great city with his passing. RIP, SIR!!

I believe he paid to have the goal post replaced after the A&M game.

Red was great in every aspect of life, God, his family, his friends and his business. He was a legend and a humble man. We lost such an awesome person. God Bless him and his family.

    We lost a great man.

When I was interested in becoming a member at Red’s, it was Red himself who gave me the tour of the facility to show me all of the amenities they had to offer. At the time, I didn’t really know much about him since I had just moved to Lafayette, but he couldn’t have been more welcoming and receptive when giving me the tour. He was always very nice and took the time to make the members feel at home. He will be greatly missed.

Red, as with many great individuals, leaves the legacy of a Godly role model. The best way to honor such people is to follow the example he left.

As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpen another. Proverbs 27:17
