Thread: WKU Bowl Chances

  1. Default WKU Bowl Chances

The Red Wolves accepted an invitation to the GoDaddy.com Bowl on Dec. 19, while the Ragin' Cajuns accepted a bid to the nearby New Orleans Bowl on Dec. 21. That's a tough pill to swallow for WKU, which beat Louisiana-Lafayette by 20 points on Oct. 22 ...

Not sure why the Georgia – LSU game matters to them.

I would assume that if Georgia wins and therefore makes the Sugar Bowl, that cascades down to become a free SEC spot near the bottom. LSU and Alabama both make a BCS bowl either way.

I thought only 2 teams per conference were allowed in the BCS....

I don't think that teams in the championship game count toward the limit.

Welcome to our source of grief for many years. Thankfully, this year, we have a better record and are more appealing. I hope they do get a bowl though.

Welcome to the world of bowl bids ... oh, and tell your fan(s) that this is an important item; the bowls need to see how many people you will bring. 12k - 15k home attendance won't cut it with these guys!

Actually the BCS Title game does count towards the two team limit. There is a 3 team loophole....2 teams from the same conference playing in the BCS Title Game that are not conference champions, the conference champion is allowed to go to a BCS bowl. Say if Georgia squeaks by LSU...LSU-Bama play for the BCS title...Georgia goes to the Sugar Bowl. How ridiculous is that?

I think it's stupid. Call me crazy...but I think you should have to be a conference champion to play for the National Championship. It's looking that, no matter what happens, at least one of the NC teams won't be...it's stoopid

I think it would be hilarious if LSU and Alabama play for the national championship, while George A1A SEC title. Demonstrates the absurdity of the current system.

Georgia squeaks by LSU wins SEC championship......National champion game would be others from the SEC but it won't be UGA. So what's the point of having a SEC championship game?

Similar thought for Houston, lose to USM and their bowl payout plummets down by over 20 million.

Another example, UCLA either wins the PAC-12 this weekend & goes to the Rose Bowl & get mega payout with a 7-6 record or they lose, go 6-7 and go nohwere.

I'm hoping this season is the straw that breaks the camels back so to speak. If LSU does flub up against Georgia...imagine the outcry. Think of what every other BCS conference will think...there is power in numbers...and if 2 non conference champs from the same conference get to play for all the marbles...the other 5 conferences will be left out in the cold...we have been waiting for them to feel the chill for a while now. Let them know how the other half lives. Major changes will be made.
