It is pretty simple. La. Tech students and faculty make up a very significant portion of the population of Ruston. We are only talking 21K in Ruston and 46K in all of Lincoln parish. Lafayette parish is 221K. The MSA for Lafayette is much larger as well.

Ruston avg. income is 25K or 17 K below state avg. Lafayette avg. is 45K or 2.5K higher than the state avg.

They are sharing this fan base with Grambling, and ULM in their backyard. Shreveport will always be an LSU town due to LSU-S.

We have to battle LSU in the fanbase category but that is it. Larger population, larger enrollment, and higher incomes all play significantly in our upside. We haven't taken advantage of that until now. Tech does not have much more headroom and we have plenty.

Yes they are and if you would ever read and assess the content of my TECH posts you would clearly see that the former has ALWAYS been stressed and that the latter has never even been mentioned---You and the Z Man just don't deal with facts and if you did you would see my points!!! Is Z correct in his thoughts of past administrations killing us---YES----Is he correct in visualizing our future----YES----Is Morecajun right is his point of our going from 120th to 72nd---of course----Just realize that this is an ongoing situation where you never underestimate your enemy-------BTW--Would we all have loved to have seen the TECH faces upon reading our news of our future Med School???? We are all in the same book and chapter but please acknowledge what page we are on at the present!!!!

Just read this in an FAU paper...

If ULL’s Mark Hudspeth gets hired away after one season, do you think fans, who are going to a bowl game for the first time in like forever, are going to be upset that the AD didn’t hire a guy who promised to stay for three years? The job suddenly looks pretty good, and there will be plenty of solid candidates thinking Lafayette could be a nice place to set up shop.

Doesn't it sound great when others thing your job looks good?
