There have been many, many years with this many head coaching changes or more. The schools (fans) that think they're excessive are those that have someone in play.

Not that many rapid-fire dismissals in one weekend. Big surprise that some guys are gone after only two years (Gill, Porter, Ianello). Hardly enough time to build a program.

This shows over the past 10 years the number of new coaches each year. I do not believe this year to be an unusual year. Most programs (ADs) are starting to pull the trigger in almost the exact timeframe. That has been happening for years now.

We just never had to worry. No one really want our coaches......

Josh, I think our odds are better than 50-50 with USM if it opens up.

At best, he will be seen as another in a line of good coaches [Hallman, Bower, Fedora] there, and at worst, the guy who ran the program into the ground. Here, all he has to do is run off a string of 7+ win seasons to be considered very successful, and 3 or more 8-10 win seasons make him a veritable god among program builders.

Winning can start with one person but that model is not sustainable. Let’s face the facts, it's inevitable- all coaches leave! This year we all got a taste of something that is very addictive- WINNING! For us to continue to win we need more than just a driven head coach, we need the University president, the AD and fans all on the same page. With that being said, here is what I think we should be focused on as a fan base- Is our University fully committed to winning? It's my opinion that what separates us (UL) from the Universities that are always on top is that the directive to win comes from the University president, AD and the fan base.

Even if he stays, which I hope he does, Coach Hud can only take us as far as our University is willing to go. I think the new administration has turned the corner on their commitment to winning but the University has be the driving force not the just the coach. As a fan base we need to demand excellence when it comes to our sports program.

People provoke Kyle and then act flabbergasted as to why Kyle is so argumentative. Come on guys.

I agree; we will give them a good run for their money! We are closing the gap very very quickly with C-USA; the biggest issue is in respect to salaries. WE can help eliminate that problem.

I watched some of the Houston - SMU game recently. It was a huge game in C-USA and the announcers stated it was the largest attendance in Houston history ... a sellout ... 32,000.

Do you think we can compete with that? And they are undefeated, in the top 10 and close to a BCS bowl game ... 32k ... bring that to our place and we'll take care of the 32k.

I can see your logic. But I have my reasons for feeling the way I do about that situation.

If provoking Kyle is wrong...I don't wanna be right.
