Here is a link to the thread you mentioned Blaine Top-Ten
We started the Cajun French wording of GEAUX followed by Cajuns---Now everybody in Louisiana does it---We were the original SWAMP---BTW we still are!!!!
he could have researched this himself.. but...we get the satisfaction in schooling him.... go UL.!
I also believe we have 5 or 6 4th down conversions.
BTW... we lead the Belt in attendance.
NFL looks to UL for defensive backs year after year.
Their are more then 2 I know of Houston and Colorado St for sure and I am pretty sure Tulane.
UL's last bowl appearance was at the Grantland Rice Bowl in Baton Rouge. What stadium was the game played in that year? I was told that the game was played at Bernie Moore Stadium but can someone confirm this?
Former UL safety and NFL great Orlando Thomas led the nation his junior year at UL with 9 INTs and led the NFL his rookie year with the Vikings with 9 INTs (going on to be an NFL All-Pro selection). He was drafted 42nd overall (2nd round) and wore jersey number 42 with the Vikings (his 8 year career).
It's Memorial Stadium on the north side of baton rouge.
