I say $400-$500 with added incentives that could get him over $600k.

So Vanderbilt; is that Not Applicable or Not Available; it used to be they were so bad they may have had volunteer coaches! lol

I remember when $1M per year was exceptional, not the exception.

Unless it changed, private schools aren't required to post salaries, but public institutions are.

I like this approach. I would be ok with a 25% raise, putting his base salary at $451,250; you could add incentives to get that over $600k. That is also an attractive number and competitive with many other schools. If we continue to reward for successful seasons on the, say 10-15% increase per year + incentives, I think this would be a very attractive package.

The important thing we need to do is financially prepare for future growth. Endowments. If we turn a profit from this year's New Orleans Bowl, I would take a large portion of that and create an endowment for athletics. The RCAF may also have already started this; if not we should.

If we don't turn a profit from this year's New Orleans Bowl, I don't think we can. Why not start a run of 3 years in a row in the dome; it's a fun weekend and we make money for our future growth! I know I'm getting ahead of myself but we have to plan now for the future!

If I knew Hud was our coach next year (and at this point he still is and will be), I would not hesitate to reserve my bowl tickets for next year. I am that confident in him.

Well, as someone posted before, Boise had a run of like 5 years in a row in their hometown bowl ... that's a nice way to add maybe several mil to their account. We need to follow suit.

    I like your confidence!

If it isn't a BCS Bowl I can't think of a better town to go bowling in.

Hard to get/keep a good head coach when BCS schools pay their assistants more than we pay our HC.

You fix this with hefty buyouts.

When a hungry up and coming coach takes the job he is so hungry for the chance he WILL accept the buyout clause.

You reinvest the money in the same place with the same clause.

Does a buyout clause currently exist in the case that Hud leaves early?
