    Don't forget our Indy Bowl appearances when we were I-A. (;

    Won one, (76vs Tulsa) lost two (79 vs Syacuse & 80 vs USM).

    McNeese played in the 1997 and 2002 NC games and lost both.

    Since 1991, McNeese has appeared in in 25 post season playoff games, including the 2 Championship games.

    Dating back to 1973, when McNeese became a member of Division I, McNeese has appeared in a total of 28 post season games, including 3 Independence Bowl Games. Winning the inaugral bowl game vs Tulsa in 1976 as the regular season SLC champion that year.

    Very true. It is outside of the memory range of many on this board. Our conference championship ties, in both the Big West and Sunbelt cost us bowl appearances. We need to outright win the dang Sunbelt and bring the dreams come true for the New Orleans Bowl. There isn't a team in the Sunbelt that can bring a third as many to the New Orleans Bowl than UL. It is past due in my life. Heck, even at my age, I can still party with the best (almost)... but let's get on with it!

    Actually I'm a graduating senior. I'm gone in December. I was a freshman in 2003, when we were still Troy State. My parents went to Auburn so I wasn't familiar with Troy athletics growing up, which is why I didn't know about McNease St. Now that I'm about to leave I've realized how much my school means to me and I am a die hard Trojan fan. When I got to Troy, most students claimed to be Auburn or Alabama fans, not Troy fans (in Alabama its ALWAYS AU or UA). But in the past two freshman classes, it has been all Troy all the time for the student body which is great.

    For Troy the answer is easy, Middle Tennessee. We hate those guys and they hate us. But who do you guys hate? And why? _
    I can guaran-damn-tee you that MT and UL do not hate each other. We treat each other with respect, and have some of the best tailgates before (and after) the games-- and on Friday evening before the game.

    All is in good fun, and may the best team win.

    I count among my very best friends some Cajun diehards.

    As for Troy, we are not treated as well. Ragin Cajun tailgating atmosphere and hospitality puts Troy's to shame (not a flame, but the truth). We have, in the past, had Cajun fans in attendance at Troy, rooting on the BlueRaiders. Ask BigEd.

    I'd say we hold our own in the tailgating department. Can't say we compare to some die hard cajuns going at it, but we have a hell of a time pregame. I've spent many a home game dizzily walking around screaming my head off and dodging the fuzz, haha. But seriously, I like MTSU folks. I just like "hating" them more, lol. Rivalries are oh so much better when you can cuss and scream at their fans and be buddies later.
