UL Football Some Advice for an Indian

Hey folks... first of all I want to congratulate the Cajuns on an awesome season this year... I hope many of you can make it out for the Bowl game to support the Sun Belt... I am coming to Lafayette a few days before the game and bringing a few students to have a good time... We were looking at places to stay... Since we're students we're trying to keep it cheap... We're looking at a Ramada Inn and a Holiday Inn Express and Suites...The Ramada is cheaper, but looks to be of lower quality... Can you give any advice???

Also just for any students out there... Many ASU students are coming down looking for a good time... so be out and we can party together... Jonesboro is in a dry county so we are pretty excited about getting to party....

Well, podnuh, you've hit the motherlode for partying. Just be careful while you're out and about in Lafayette (and in travelling). As a parent of a 21 year old UL student, I sometimes worry about kids getting too out of control. But having graduated from school there, I do understand the fun part of partying in Lafayette. Congrats to the Indians for making it to the NO Bowl. Best of luck to your team! Hope they can kick some CUSA butt! Have fun, but be safe.

Well I can't speak for all of the students, but I can pretty much guarantee that my crew will be responsible... thanks for the word of concern

Welcome to Cajun country. If your coming down early there is plenty to do here on the weekend. I myself will be try to make it back from BR in time to throw some down. Jefferson street is where we will be heading (Think Boubon Street but cleaner). Hope ya'll have a good time but like Hef said "just don't bring to many dudes". Last thing I wanna see after a few drinks is a sausagefest.

Partying? Don't forget about Legend's Sports Club in the Water Tower District. Lot's of fun & nice folks besides the best burgers and coldest beer in town, and close to Cajun Field on Bertrand Drive

I hear Legend's "sold out" and has a place downtown now as well.

You may try America's Best Suites - indoor pool, happy hour and reasonable.
It's also relatively close to Cajun Field and a right on the Thruway from Jefferson will get you back to Kaliste Saloom quickly after a night out.

Jeaux, Jeff. St. is NOTHING close to Bourbon. Let's be clear about that. It is still a good time, however and definitley the place to be.

Here is another question... I'm traveling from Little Rock to Lafayette...

Is it quicker to take straight highway through El Dorado or interstate and go through Shreveport???

And less freaky too..... that could be a good thing or a bad thing.

Still Jeff. St. pulls some wool out there. Lots of attractive ladies. Or so I've, ahem, "heard"

It's not bourbon...... You can walk down Jefferson without fear of being robbed. Of course you can't get a shoe and learn how to spell Y-O-U-R L-A-S-T-N-A-M-E...

I am not being negative of New Orleans but a uninvited $20 shoe shine and some dude saying he could cap me was enough to never want to personally go to New Orleans again.
