  1. Default For Memphis Tigers, the coaching hunt is on again - Memphis Commercial Appeal

"My record speaks for itself." Mark Hudspeth: In one season at Louisiana-Lafayette, the 43-year-old Hudspeth won eight games and led the Ragin' Cajuns to a New Orleans Bowl berth. As the head coach at Division II North Alabama from 2002 to 2008 ...

Hudspeth has guided the Ragin' Cajuns to an 8-4 season and a berth in the New Orleans Bowl in his first season as the head coach. Hudspeth, a Mississippi native, was previously the wide receivers coach for Mississippi State (2009-10) and the ...

All i can say is if for some strange reason he leaves us high and dry after one year he will be the most hated man in Louisiana, worse than Saban with the bandwagon fans at that ______hole across the mississippi river.... But i think we have nothing to worry about, because he is not stupid enough to leave this great university after one year with all the great recruits and fans. Geaux Cajuns!!!
    Ditto! Well said!

Ole Miss = $2.7 million annually for a fired Houston Nutt
UL = $340 thou a year for a currently employed COACH HUD

His wife would like Oxford much better when presented these figures for her 2012 Black Friday budget. It would be understandable if he opted for the alternative.

There's quite a bit of difference between $6,300 a week here versus $52,000 a week in Oxford.

If he interviews and is offered the job, he is gone. What would you do if you got offered a job like that? I suspect Hud is renting a house and did not buy one when he moved here.

Enjoy the ride If he is not gone by the end of next year. he's crazy.

If he is renting where he is now he is paying a pretty penny. I think you may be wrong. Pretty sure he bought that crib he is in.

I think it is raise time.... Hud has more than paid for an increase by the enthusiasm he has brought to the community, increased awareness, bowl game and of course the increased attendance..... Having said that we should get used to Hud's name being on a lot of "want" lists.... And one day he will take a SEC job... My crystal ball is that he stays for 3 years and takes the Tennessee job as they continue to suck into the near future and will be in the market around that time frame...

HUD is likely to get an 75-90% raise depending if we get into a bidding war. I think we can afford $750K to keep him if we need to.

If we can afford it.. why not reward him now? Show him we are dedicated.

I think Mr. Farmer will do all he can to keep Hud. T minus 19 days till the New Orleans BOWL!!!

According to my sources, he will be getting a substantial raise after this year to include raises for his staff as well. But if we get into a bidding war with another school, I think that is our limit at this point in time. Again, that is just my opinion. Now if we do keep him and go to three straight bowl games then I could see us realistically paying close to $1M for our HC.
