State won, but let's not lose focus on the long term best interest for UL.
Good attendance at this game may allow the game to be played here on a more regular basis. Boycott is not a good idea.

I really hope our opponent is Memphis. We always give them a good game, and have been a thorn in their side since 1975. I seriously doubt that we'll embarrass the SBC against this team.
I don't have a problem with you guys. You guys are in it because you made the plays and had breaks. Like the ball bouncing off of your receivers helmet and into the endzone for a touchdown in the game against us. That break and injuries to our defense in the second half in that game also helped you get in the bowl. That is good luck for you guys-plain and simple. However, you took advantage of the break and now you need to play your best game in order to represent the Sun Belt well. Much of sports comes down to things like that. Life is not fair, you accept things and move on and try to take advantage of the times go your way. That stuff about teams wanting it more is bull. All teams want it equally. I also think you guys know which team was playing the best ball at the end of the season. Despite that, what do you need to do against Memphis. I suggest you imagine you are in Jonesboro.

UL Football Cajun Bowl Bid Lobby

We should all lobby the Sun Belt to work for UL to get in a bowl. We are bowl eligible. Hey they could be the opponent in the New Orleans Bowl. It would boost the area and put 35,000 fans in the stands. Lafayette, would look great on National Television. The Sun Belt would have two teams in post season play and look good to recruits.

The biggest loss for Lafayette will most likely be economically.

Had the predicted teams been in the bowl then the Tuesday night before Christmas certainly would have brought more of the actual team's fans to Cajun Field.

Think about how long of a drive it will be and the fact people will have to take off from work, not all schools are out yet and the expense of 2 or 3 nights in a hotel Christmas week. This surely will have many out of state fans watching on tv.

Lafayette is not the easiest city to get to by plane and we don't have airlines like Southwest who offer cheap airfares. Too bad for us as Cajun fansa and for Lafayette as the host city for not being able to give the town the economic boost it needs right now.

That's why folks in Lafayette & Acadiana need to step up and go to the game. It will be an overall boost to the area if we have a good turnout for the game.

Are you crazy or what for saying something like this. It is not the New Orleans Committee or the Sunbelt Conference that is keeping us from the New Orleans Bowl. It is our failure in the 4th quarter to stop ASU. Rules are rules. Reverse the situation with ASU. Would you like it?

I for one and going to support the N O Bowl because it is the only Sunbelt Conference affiliation. Sour grape fans we don't need. Support the conference so, we can keep the bowl affiliation. THINK before you start |||| like this.

The committee chose Lafayette as its site I believe because we had a chance. Well, it didn't happen. Go on and support for next year and hope if anything the SuperDome ain't ready so they will have it here again. Without a good turnout, we won't be considered next year if it should happen.

Sometimes you people sound like LSU fans, SOUR Grapes. Get with the BIG Picture. SUPPORT OUR CONFERENCE REGARDLESS.

    Geaux Cajuns.

  8. Sunbelt Dear Wright Waters . . .

Did you determine the Sunbelt Conference Champion(s) BEFORE extending the NO bowl invitation?

I am not a sour grapes fan. ASU beat us and that is it. ASU gets to go and we will watch ASU in the NO Bowl. Just win the Bowl game.

Houston Bowl: (Sec doesn't have team to send)
Music City Bowl: (again SEC doesn't have team to send)
Motor City Bowl: (No Big Ten team to send)
Emerald City Bowl: (no Pac-10 team to send)

with that being said, as of right now it still seems you guys have a decent chance for a possible bowl bid. good luck!

    GO TRIBE!!

More of us are Proud Cajun Fans. Supporting the Conference and its Bowl affilated Team is a prime objective especially since it is in our home town. I will be there supporting the Indians.

Good Luck, Just beat whomever you play.

Conference USA would have something to say about that idea... They have the bowl tie in for the opposite spot v Sunbelt champ

Kinda defeats the purpose of a bowl game to have 2 teams from the same conference.
