What they should do is move arkansas state to the music city bowl which would help their attendence. I think alot more indian fans would go to that bowl in tennessee than in lafayette. Put the cajuns over here and evrybody wins. This would be in a perfect world of course. I could care less if we go to a bowl this year, it would be great but I'm not gonna let it ruin what we did do. The cajuns did all i wanted this year, awinning season and a share of the conference title. Anyway, next year will be our year to shine with an outright championship and a bowl victory! Then we will party the night away on the new and improved bourbon street. I pumped about cajun football to come!

Would love to see the Cajuns in a bowl game this year; but lets face it, highly unlikely the SunBelt gets two this time around. Right now we need to enjoy the season and the terrific turnaround this team accomplished, and do a first class job of supporting the NO Bowl in Lafayette. Our team might not be in this game; but our city IS in the forefront. Sell Lafayette strong, make it a place recruits (athletic and academic) want to come to, and with a little good fortune we enjoy our team in a bowl game this time next year.

This is a GREAT IDEA Hey NCAA help out a state hit by two hurricanes

Please help Louisiana recover and send UL to a bowl game. Thankyou.

    Greetings Cajun Fans,

Just wanted to compliment the majority of you on great sportsmanship, and what turned out to be one heck of a football team. Don't think that the state of La won't notice a winning season and the drubbing of ULM.

Regarding the way rules, they weren't just made up. They were in place well before the season ever started, and Im pretty sure they are universal (ties always go to the head to head)

Anyways, I am really hoping you guys get a bowl bid, and get to show the college football world how good your team has become.

You also aren't going to miss any beats with Desormeaux behind center next year (That kid was an animal @ ASU). Also, you are the only team in the belt who had a realistic shot of getting an at large bid. So, maybe this is the way that you still get a bowl game.

Now that the season is done, here's hoping that you guys get your shot because I know that you are playing EXTREMELY well right now. With Fenroy and Desormeaux coming back, Im not sure who can stop you next year either.

Good luck Cajun fans, and go SBC!

Fenroy vs Williams wouldda been a gold mine
How about two RBs that played on the same High school football team?

They rank 2nd and 14th nationally in yards per carry

    There stats are:
    C Yds Av Av/game
    166 1075 6.5 116
    279 1726 6.2 172

    Memphis' Deangelo Williams
    ASU's Antonio Warren

They graduated in 2000 and 2001 from Wynne High School, Wynne, AR

    Boycotting would be foolish.

ASU took care of business when they had to, we were just a little late.

I hope all of Acadiana shows up for the game. Also hope all who post here and call themselves Cajun fans show the class that I know they have and show up for the game and pull for ASU.

A full house can do nothing but good for the conference, the city of Lafayette and the CAJUNS.

Ya know, we're all dissapointed that we arent in the game, but ya know, if asu can come out and wax some CUSA |||, that will just make the conference look better. I mean, right now, we dont have a team or game to follow for the bowl season, so what better than to put our support behind this ASU team. ASU is bad on the road and good at home, so our goal should be to make this a home game!

  9. UL Football Sun Belt still pursuing bowl position for Ragin' Cajuns

It's not very likely, and both Sun Belt Conference commissioner Wright Waters and University of Louisiana head coach Rickey Bustle freely admit that. But neither one's telling the Ragin' Cajuns to pack up their pads for good just yet.

The Cajuns are among 64 bowl-eligible teams in the country with a total of 56 spots available, and the politicking has begun for the last remaining spots - especially in games where leagues will not fill their bowl tie-ins.

"We're making sure they know that we do have another team that's bowl-eligible," Waters said Monday. "We will do everything we can to pitch them (the Cajuns) to other bowls. It'll be a tough sell, but we want the bowls to know they're out there."

"We know it's a long shot," Bustle said. "There's so many teams available right now. It's just according to how much power we have in the Sun Belt to try to negotiate something."

UL's dominating 54-21 win over UL Monroe in the regular-season finale left the Cajuns at 6-5, their first winning record since 1995. Arkansas State also finished 6-5 and like UL was 5-2 in league play, earning the league's New Orleans Bowl slot due to a head-up win in October.

"It would have been great," Bustle said. "We had our opportunities throughout the season. We had one at ASU, we had one against Florida Atlantic. We could never know what was going to be the difference at the end. I'm proud for Steve (ASU coach Steve Roberts) and his team, and anything we can do down here we'll sure do it. And we're going to be pulling for them to win the game."

The Cajuns, of course, are hoping that longshot hits the board, but the numbers game isn't helping. Seven leagues, including the Sun Belt, have more bowl-eligible teams than bowl tie-ins, and only two leagues won't fulfill their quotas. The SEC has eight bowl tie-ins and only six eligible teams, and the Pac-10 has six tie-ins and five eligible teams.

    Dear Wright Waters

Please forgive me for harping. Many if not most of my Ragin' Cajun friends are happy with the end of the season. As am I, but I have questions on how the bowl representative is selected.

Now I fully understand why Monroe would be ineligible on the "back end" where the NCAA requires 6 wins for bowls entry.

However I need to know why they were taken out of the mix on the "front end" where the Sunbelt Champions are determined.

6 wins are not required to become Sunbelt Champs but by removing Monroe from consideration on the "Front End" you deny the conference of utilizing all tiebreakers in determining a Sunbelt champion.

As I said, I fully understand why Monroe would be ineligible on the "back end" and if they finished 1a in Conference they would then be removed from bowl consideration with 1b taken instead.

However what if Monroe wasn't 1a in the Sunbelt Ranking Title Chase, and say . . . the Ragin Cajuns were?

By removing Monroe on the front end of something they are still very much entitled to, are you not doing the entire conference a disservice?

By removing Monroe from the front end equation are you not denying the Ragin Cajuns of their full allotment of tie breaker scenarios?

ps Please forgive me for harping and oh yes, remind me to tell you the jest of a book I read in the 2nd grade.

    Thanks

Default UL better bowl team than ASU - Collegefootballnews.com

But you have nothing else to do on December 20th … As Mr. College Football, I consider all 119 teams my children and I love them all in their own way. I have to be somewhat knowledgeable about every team. Having seen more Sun Belt games than any human being in America, I can honestly say that Arkansas State might be the worst bowl team in the history of bowl games. I know the Indians beat UL Lafayette several weeks ago, but the Ragin’ Cajuns would’ve been the better Sun Belt representative.

We all know this, but its nice to see it from a site that I consider to be one fo the best for college football...
