Well, the weather was shakey & we didn't get the help that we needed from UNT, but you can't stop the Cajun fan from having a good party. We all stayed to the end in the pouring rain and went out on the field after to thank the players on a great win and good season. I haven't been this proud of a Cajun team since 1996..........(can't wait till next year)

Houston Bowl: (Sec doesn't have team to send)
Music City Bowl: (again SEC doesn't have team to send)
Motor City Bowl: (No Big Ten team to send)
Emerald City Bowl: (no Pac-10 team to send)

with that being said, as of right now it still seems you guys have a decent chance for a possible bowl bid. good luck!

    GO TRIBE!!

Hey, a ULM guy was telling me yesterday that he thought they were going to change to the "Black Bears". I think it's a crock, but what are you guys going to change to????

    Here's my deal...

College sports has turned into a business which bothers me to no end. LSU played Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl instead of USC because the hosts stood to make more money.

Now that it is time for the silly politics to apply to us, they don't. Ahhh, life's not fair!

No way, this would be stupid! This is the SBC bowl representative and they won the right to play by the rules. We need to show the world that Cajun country is the perfect setting for a Bowl game and that we support our conference.

It was awesome to be on that field after the game; Rain and all. I too was never prouder to be a Ragin Cajun. Our kids played their hearts out and unfortunately we DID NOT get the help we needed from North Texas. But we sure put an exclamation point on the future of ULL athletics yesterday. I think our future in football is brighter than ever.

Back to the thread; I think it would be foolish to Boycott the Bowl. Sure, I was hoping we'd be in it; but Arkansas State won it fair and square. Let's go out and show the bowl makers that we are supportive of BIG TIME college football in Lafayette. Besides what do we have to lose. I like the idea of wearing your Ragin Cajun gear and showing the SBC that we are GREAT HOST to the N. O. Bowl. GEAUX CAJUNS

Maybe, maybe not . . . ASU had over 30K for a home game against Memphis last year. ASU and Memphis have a decent relationship; we just signed another football home and home with them.

State won, but let's not lose focus on the long term best interest for UL.
Good attendance at this game may allow the game to be played here on a more regular basis. Boycott is not a good idea.

I really hope our opponent is Memphis. We always give them a good game, and have been a thorn in their side since 1975. I seriously doubt that we'll embarrass the SBC against this team.
I don't have a problem with you guys. You guys are in it because you made the plays and had breaks. Like the ball bouncing off of your receivers helmet and into the endzone for a touchdown in the game against us. That break and injuries to our defense in the second half in that game also helped you get in the bowl. That is good luck for you guys-plain and simple. However, you took advantage of the break and now you need to play your best game in order to represent the Sun Belt well. Much of sports comes down to things like that. Life is not fair, you accept things and move on and try to take advantage of the times go your way. That stuff about teams wanting it more is bull. All teams want it equally. I also think you guys know which team was playing the best ball at the end of the season. Despite that, what do you need to do against Memphis. I suggest you imagine you are in Jonesboro.

UL Football Cajun Bowl Bid Lobby

We should all lobby the Sun Belt to work for UL to get in a bowl. We are bowl eligible. Hey they could be the opponent in the New Orleans Bowl. It would boost the area and put 35,000 fans in the stands. Lafayette, would look great on National Television. The Sun Belt would have two teams in post season play and look good to recruits.
