I don't really want to get involved in this, but people are posting their opinions on "what if" scenarios here. Isn't that what message boards are for?

And Kyle, your passion is wonderful and all, but to just jump in and go off with name calling, etc. is a little much, no? It's a Cajun message board. Cajun fans will have discussions and share their opinions on things relating to Cajun athletics. There's no need to get that riled up my friend.

That being said, the thoughts about players not trusting Hud from now on is crazy. IF he interviewed, good for him. It doesn't mean he had any intentions on taking the job. He'd be stupid not to at least listen to what people have to say, and any interview you do makes you better at it for future ones...ones that may be for a job he actually wants.

Isn't it wonderful how the people on this board can come up with insurrectionist crap against a guy who has done everything he has promised & more for you. Then because I'm the new guy in the room & supposed to keep my mouth shut since you all are SOOOOOOOOO freaking knowledgable about Cajun atheletics. If you knew half as much about winning as you do whinning, someone else would have jumped out hours ago & said Please. I don't need frinds like you & don't want friends like you. I would not blame HUD if he took the first train out of town & told you guys to F... off. I know what a man like this is like though. He has more charcter in his pinky toe than all the insurrectionists on here have in their whole family tree. The people who were talking about how HUD shouldn't be trusted by his players any more & can't recruit because his name has been put into the hopper by unnamed internet trollers & self-described "media" people without any good hard sources, are the ones who I was talking to. They know who they are. If the shoe doesn't fit then don't try to squeeze it on your foot. I wasn't talking to Crawfish either, even though I disagree with him about the thought that showing your hand to a competing school & letting them know they're gonna have to pony up more than they have the guts for to try to steal your coach. I meant no offense to you Crawfish. You should have known that though, instead of casting your lot with insurrectionists.

UL has the most mediocre Fan Base in the nation if they are ok with Hud leaving after just one year.
I would be ____ed and not happy for him at all If he went to another school anything less than 4 years because its a cheap Lane Kiffin move. I'm sure he's a good guy but if he just sells out and doesn't commit to everything he wants us or his players to commit to, then he would just be contradicting everything he is about and jeopardizing This University by having possible recruits that have committed or players that have played with us transfer. It would completely screw us.

Either Hold on to the ROPE and become apart of the Ragin Cajun Family or be prepared to never be welcomed warmly in Acadiana again.

You guys need to stop looking at short term and start thinking long term for once and realize how much of a douche move this would be if he were to leave in such short time.

I would like to give him the benefit of the doubt that he is a better person than that. If he isn't Then he will get no respect from me in the future.

So HUD has to forgo millions of dollars. Why don't we not be douches in ur words. Then we should pay him what Tulane would. If not we can't complain. We expect him to be loyal, but if he wod have been 3-9 for two years, everyone would be calling for his head.

I think you may be missing the point of why we'd be tremendously disappointed if he left after ONE stinking year. If he really is the coach we all think he is, then he'll be rewarded for staying here, and the millions will come. If he jumps ship after ONE year for the first job to come along, I don't see how we could NOT be upset.

He finished 3rd in the Sunbelt behind 2 unranked teams and lost to a bottom feeder Pac 12 team
He helped get a winning season but with TALENTED PLAYERS

To look at him like he is a Proven Coach at this point of his career would be ludicrous. He is a good coach...but not proven just yet.

There's nothing wrong with people being upset IF it happens WHEN it happens. I personally have no problem with what you and RW are saying, but saying things like if the man goes to a job interview to see where he stands in life that his players should not, the fans should not, & that future recruits should not ever trust him again is doing nothing more than setting the stage for pushing him out of town. That is pure BS & should have been shut down by someone on this board with more seniority than myself the second it was started.
