Troy Wingerter, a former Rummel lineman who is the recruiting coordinator at Louisiana-Lafayette, oversees efforts in the New Orleans area.
"It has been difficult," Wingerter said. "It's tough finding hard addresses. Some players are living with aunts; some are in shelters; some are at new schools. But if you are determined, you will find a way to locate those kids."
Wingerter, who housed as many as 11 people in the aftermath of the storms, has seen one upside to these otherwise bleak conditions.
"It has been a joy to watch people overcome this situation," he said.
