It appears no one wants to play LSU. I have heard Alabama's fans talking, but should the Tide fall to Auburn, they will prove they don't want LSU at all. Hence the question of who wants it more? Evedently NOT Oregon, OSU, or Oklahoma. Now to the next point. Has one half of one conference ever held the top three spots in all the polls, especially on Thanksgiving Day.
in listening to bitter's shows yesterday and this morning, and even fric-and-frac's show this morning, which i rarely do, it seems to me that the tigger fans' are worried that their worst nightmare might come true--a rematch with alabama. the funniest thing is that they are sooo angry about it. lol.
To answer the original question: It will be Alabama or Oregon as long as neither of them lose their last game. Of course, lsua&mc@br still has to play Arkansas...
GEAUX HOGS!!!
if Okie State wins Bedlam, they have as good of a shot as 'Bama to make the title game. i don't think a majority of the voters in the nation wants a rematch, plus the computers love the Big XII. If they lose, watch Va Tech...
The voters will have to change their minds pretty quickly. The computers like Alabama much more than they do Oklahoma State and there is a huge gap between these two in the human polls. Both teams only have one game left, and while a victory over Oklahoma might be more impressive than a win over Auburn, I don't see a way it makes up enough of the gap between these two teams. LSU and Alabama for the National Championship, the kitty cats win again.
Allow me to put in my $.01. Although it doesn't always happen, isn't the national championship game supposed to be between the two best teams in the country? Yeah, I know, Alabama didn't beat them when they had the chance a couple of weeks ago. Alabama won't even win their own conference, etc, etc. I didn't think Alabama deserved another chance, but nobody else seems to want it. I know it goes against my original point, but I think Houston (provided they win out) should get the chance (although I know it isn't going to happen) to play for the national championship. I don't think anyone believes that Houston is the 2nd best team in the country, but they have (so far at least) gone out and beaten everyone put in front of them. We all know Houston isn't going to be in the BCS title game, so that's a moot point anyway.
After all that rambling, here's my suggestion. (Provided LSU and Alabama win out) How about if the BCS submits a Memorandum
of Understanding that LSU and Alabama play again in the title game, with the stipulation that if Alabama doesn't beat LSU by more than 6 points (3 point differential from the first game plus 3 points for Alabama being at home the first game) then LSU is crowned national champion? Or maybe, they could just play until one team scores an actual touchdown, and immediately declare that team the winner!!!
