In no particular order it will be one of these guys:

    Coach Hud

    Larry Fedora, Southern Miss

    Hugh Freeze, Arkansas State

    Skip Holtz, South Florida

    Mike Leach

    Gus Malzahn, offensive coordinator, Auburn

    Chad Morris, offensive coordinator, Clemson

    Rich Rodriguez

    Kevin Sumlin, Houston

Well from what I hear, Rich Rod is going to Tulane and it will be official on Monday.

A great point was brought up about Leach heading to an SEC job, he is currently in a lawsuit against ESPN, this would be a big red flag on him right now from the Ole Miss Standpoint. ESPN and the SEC are close partners, and I doubt with where Ole Miss is as a program, they want to bring that kind of baggage.

Kevin Sumlin is an interesting choice, I think hes the best choice of that list, but he lacks the wow factor in name because people haven't been really paying as much attention to Houston as they should.

Rodriguez will be rebuilding his name at a lower level, hes probably destined for Tulane, but that will be a dead-end for him.

If the race is between Hugh Freeze and Hudspeth, Freeze is the choice for them with his previous ties to Ole Miss. I've also heard that he has some heavy hitters there that love him. Hudspeth has always been a more Mississippi State guy anyway.

Skip Holtz is probably the best candidate on the list from the ability to coach plus the name factor, I don't think he'll leave for that job, he will probably hold out for a little more lucrative job.

Fedora is a wiley beast, I think that he has the name factor, but he would end up like a Tommy Tubberville type for them, when his team is on, they can beat anyone, when they're off, they can lose to UAB, so that game last night hurt him in this case.

Chad Morris won't be the choice, I just don't see it, but Gus Malzahn has slowly built a name for himself. In fact, his name is more well known than the coach for Auburn (Gene Chizik). Guz is just one of those intriguing young names in the sport, and I think that he very well could get the job.

Thats my take on those candidates.

Hmmm, think you're missing someone.............whose name hasn't been bantered around a lot.

But he's very very much a part of the mix.

Hint: Think about who's very involved in the search.

Archie Manning is the only one that stands out in my mind as "involved in the search". Who's missing from that list that you believe should be added? I'm pretty sure you aren't talking about Peyton... are you?

If it is Archie where would it come from---He has been in NO ---Current or former Saint Coach??? What about some of the coaches that staff the Manning Camp in the Summer ---Carl Smith has worked it for years --maybe he might know who it could be!!!! OK JAY --next hint!!!

Blakeny is an Ole Miss alum, he's earned a shot but, no ones gonna touch him because of baggage.

Who ever gets that gig, good luck to them and God bless because they suck. I watched a little of the game yesterday, and its one thing to get an a## whipping at home in front of a half empty stadium, but taking it and not even trying is another.

Yep. I've been wrong before. But all I'm saying is the list is missing someone, not that they'll get the job....or agree to take it......You guys need to think outside the box a little......Manning......hmmmm........
