I love these inquiries!

My guess is they are refering to bowl games as a D1 team. The Cajuns have not attended a
bowl game since the 1970 Grantland Rice bowl vs Tennessee State. (L 26-25) Other than that, the only other bowl appearance was the 1944 Oil bowl vs Arkansas A&M. (W 24-7)

Thanks. It says no 'major' bowls

Now if you go to their page here LINK they say the New Years Day Oil Bowl bowl was minor in 1944 but Major the next two games. This is a bit of ignorance on their part, they are ranking it by who played not by 'who' played.

If truth be known the first Oil Bowl was the first Super Bowl.
