    My $0.02.

Well the General has kicked off TWO this year to get their stuff together(tuff), and if they do they will be welcomed back(fair). MS is paying his own way, met or exceeded the grades(min 3.0/MS made 4.0)Tough, had to be voted back onto the team(fair).

I would say the General has let ALL know that this is "The GENERAL's TEAM) and they are a big part of it, only it is his way or the highway!! Coach Lee will do what is best for these Student/Athletes, as does Robe, Steph/Michael, and Bustle of whom he has seeked guidence.

OK. rant out of the way, back to the topic. Help me understand this guys, Cooke transferred from VT to Colorado State, then finds that Colorado isn't a good fit either and looks for a better fit elsewhere. If he hasn't played a game for CSU, why does he have to sit out the whole year he is here? Hasn't he already been out of D1 ball for a whole year?

From my understanding, he was enrolled at CSU for the fall semester, so transfer rules apply even though he didn't play ball.

First of all I've never been kicked off any team whom ever you are. Get better sources or contact me and find out what happen. Of course they going to make the black guy seems like he is trouble, but nothing was said or brought up when ya'll favorite player got caught smoking weed (J.J. Ridick)
Both schools that I left, me and the coaches came to a agreement, so if there is anything else u want to know I'll be around campus and who r u to be downing others?

I think I speak for the majority of Cajun fans when I say that we are happy to have Marquie on our squad...

Rumors get started, message boards are full of em'. Doesnt make it right but its a reality.

Not sure if you are the real deal, or not... But rest assured under Coach Lee's leadership, and guidance "you"/"Marquie" will be the best possible player you can be, and will get a darned fine education.

We look forward to having "you"/Marquie" make a major impact next season.

Thanks for stopping by, dont be a stranger...I think you'll find out that we are pretty nice folks...

Finally, not sure why you brought up JJ R., but NO one here ever mentioned him, or even cares about him...We care about our own..."you"/Marquie" are one of us now...

    best of Luck to YOU!!!

    Z.

Marquie Cooke, I want to speak on your behalf. I do not really know you but during homecoming this year I was able to speak to you at the first practice at Blackham. You seem to be a very nice young man and very respectful of your elders. My son and his friend enjoyed listening in on our conversation as they both love basketball and after seeing your first hand dribling and shooting the ball, they as well as I were very impressed. Just work hard on your studies, hard on your game and listen to coach Lee he will teach you alot about becoming a man and life.

Thanks for choosing to play for the Cajuns, My family and I as well as MANY Cajun fans look forward to watching you play the next two years at UL and hopefully many years after in the NBA. You seem to have a lot of talent and potential, don't waste it. put those God given talents to work and you will be justly rewarded!!!

First and foremost, if this is Marquie Cooke, I want to apologize if I was wrong. I'll admit, I'm far away enough from the situation right now that I don't know everything about what's happening at UL right now. My post was aimed more at the university and the direction of the basketball program than you, and I'm sorry if I made assumptions that were off base.

But I have to ask one question: When your former coach said that "Marquie failed to abide by a set of standards we set for our basketball team" in USA Today last August, doesn't that sound an awful lot like getting kicked off? If not, why not? Do you think VT was being unfair? Quite frankly, I'd like to hear your side of the story.

Another reason why I might have made a faulty assumption was your leaving two programs in the space of less than six months, which still bothers me, to be honest with you. Now, you just might be looking for the right fit, which is admirable. I do hope this is the right fit for you, and for my alma mater.

I agree with the sentiments expressed here. I spoke with Marquie at the same fall scrimmage, and he appeared a well spoken, polite young man. I know fans always want the best for their university and teams, but we need to give people the opportunity to prove themselves as players and individuals before we're finding faults, especially with character.

In regard to character issues, sometime it takes more than one warning bell some some people to get the message. I've been there myself, and I believe Michael Southall has been there now as well. All people have trouble at some time in their life, and their character is what determines how it goes from there. I'm glad we have a coach who's willing to give "kids" the opportunity to find their own character, with the goal of a successful life, regardless if it involves basketball.
