Ergo...
Ergo...
Since you asked , I never supported the Panthers. I pulled my behind off for Jake Delhome & his team because I believed he had what it took to lead a team to the highest level in the NFL & was not given a chance to with the Saints. I was betrayed by the Saints organization for whatever reason they had to betray me & as a season ticket holding sponsor didn't put up with it. I have no apologies to make about that decision. It is my money, my time, & my emotions I am investing. I take all my investments seriously just as any person with good sense, corporation, or sports program with good sense, that operates in the black does. It is the same with the Cajuns.
Before you go drilling on me, riddle me this? How many season tickets were sold Bustle's last year here? How about Stokely's or Baldwin's last year? Many of the same people who try to belittle folks like me are not one bit BETTER than I am. What was the average attendance to football Bustle's last year? How about Baldwin? How about Stokely? Obviously, based upon those scientific, mathematical facts, there are a lot more people who think the way I do, than use some pie in the sky wait til next year approach.
How long did it take for Tiger Woods' sponsors to drop him like a bad habbit when they found out about his indiscretions? Shouldn't those sponsors have stood with Tiger through thick & thin? What is the difference between folks like myself being sponsors & those corporate sponsors? I have a responsibility to my family's budget which is much more impactful, direct, & is quicker felt than they do.
The sooner EVERYONE realizes everyone else's right to do what they will with their hard earned dollars & promotes this program as one where folks want to be instead of a defacto religion that one must attend so often to be a true believer, the quicker those who wish for things like expansion will see those dreams come to fruition. I do know this. UL has the right man right now to bring them to heights previously never experienced & the school, fan base, supporters, Etc. need to make hay while the harvest is great.
I think we may have just unlocked the great mystery as to why Kyle is the way he is. The Saints did not betray you Kyle...they were just poorly run. They did not stab you in the back, sleep with your cousin/sister, nor steal your scatter gun. They were just run poorly. I make no bones about being a Seattle Seahawk's fan. I sat through some pretty rough years. The majority of those I was a kid. I had no say so in how the organization was run. Did I feel betrayed because Ken Behring didn't care about the Seahawks? No. Why would I? I have no input in how the team is run. One fan's opinion of how a team is run has about as much importance to that team as a bucket of snot.
Your Tiger Wood's analogy is horrible and really shows your disconnect from reality at large. The Saints, Panthers, Cajuns, Tiger, or any team you decide to pull for at any given time really does not need you in any shape or form. You are a spec. A microbe. You are a minuscule factor in the grand scheme that is college or professional football.
I have a better analogy for you. Let's say you have a son or daughter. You do all you can to show them you care and make sure they have all the basic necessities. You can be the best parent in the world and your child can still somehow end up a complete and utter failure. But at the end of the day, you do what you can to prevent that from happening. And that is all you can do. Just like a fan of a football team...you show up, support them, and that is all you can do. It's not like we are players...none of us are. We sit in the stands, we buy season tickets, we donate to the RCAF, we cheer for our team. Outside of that we can do nothing else to affect the performance on the football field. We are SPECTATORS. Life is more important than football, and anyone who cannot discern football from real everyday life is possibly mentally ill.
Kyle, you are right...you have every right to what you will with your hard earned dollars and promote whatever team you want. No one can argue that fact...but for everything that is holy...realize that football is not life or death for any of us on this board. And please...step down from the bully pulpit. We have had enough of your fire and brimstone. I guarantee you...whether you support this team or not...you will not affect the outcome. Same thing with me. Win or lose...I will support this team. Can you say the same Kyle?
