Andrews to sign with Ragin Cajuns

Tomorrow Louisiana Lafayette will seal the deal on one of Florida’s biggest sleepers. Alex Andrews of Tallahassee Godby will sign a national letter of intent with the Ragin Cajuns at his high school. Andrews is a 6’5 shooting guard that transferred to the Florida school last season. This summer he created a buzz amongst college coaches while touring with the Jacksonville Lee Bulls and Breakdown NW travel teams.
Andrews recently visited the Lafayette, Louisiana and enjoyed the team and campus. “I enjoyed the atmosphere but I really ejoyed their team,” said Andrews. “Everyone was friendly off the court but hard on it. They move the ball just like Godby so it should be easy to adjust.”
Andrews led the Cougars in scoring averaging 14 points and grabbed 7 rebounds per game. Godby head coach Andy Colville thinks Andrews will be a great addition for the Ragin Cajuns. “He is one of the most underrated players around,” Colville said about his senior. “The sky is the limit for Alex. He is going to be really good.”
We’ve seen firsthand how much he has improved and his potential. Andrews turned in the most impressive performance by a senior at the Source Hoops Fall Showcase in September. Associate Scouting Director, Rick Staudt wrote: An explosive wing player, he gets to the rim quickly and has excellent body control in traffic. Because of his excellent vertical leap, Andrews is always a threat to throw one down on the break or dunk a lob off of a set play in the half-court. He displayed a reliable jumper this weekend as well.
This season, Andrews is displaying a new confidence and appears ready to lead the #7 ranked Cougars (Source Hoops Florida Top 25) on a deep run. “Last year he was the new kid at school and to the team so he was a little reluctant,” said Colville. “He’s starting to assert himself more now. He scored 29 points in our tip-off game tonight.”
Andrews is ranked #35 in the Source Hoops Class of 2012 Fall Rankings.

Sounds like a good player to me.
Finally we are adding some size at the guard position.
I am really loving this signing, great job Marlin and staff!
Did hear last night at the Shipley gala that this signing info may be premature.
