The records just keep coming for the University of Louisiana's running game.

The Ragin' Cajuns rushed for 308 yards Saturday in their 28-7 victory over Florida International, giving them their fourth game of 300 yards or better this season. It also gives them 2,354 rushing yards through 10 games, already more than UL's team record for rushing yards of 2,273 set way back in 1951.

"I'm so proud of our offensive line guys," said offensive line coach Ron Hudson, "but we would be very average if it weren't for those backs. They just put their heads down and got it done. Those fullbacks we have are phenomenal leaders, and that's where it starts. When those guys run it like that, it makes it easy."

Freshman Tyrell Fenroy was once again the main cog in that attack, getting his third straight 100-yard game with 147 yards on 27 carries including a third quarter touchdown.

He had 156 yards two weeks ago against Troy and 102 yards last Saturday at North Texas, scoring three touchdowns in each of those games. The last Cajun to record three straight 100-yard rushing games was Marcus Prier, who did that in three straight games in 1995 - 177
yards against New Mexico State, 186 yards against Pacific and 103 yards against Tulane on Oct. 14, 21 and 28.

Fenroy now has 889 rush yards this season, the third-most in Cajun history behind quarterback Brian Mitchell (1,311 in 1989) and Marcus Prier (979 in 1995) and the second-highest total by a running back. He also has a shot at becoming the first running back ever to reach 1,000 yards, needing 111 in the season finale at UL Monroe in two weeks.
