Why do we want ULM to beat North Texas? What about Ark St, who do they play and what happens if they win?

Then North Texas must also beat ASU

and Louisiana must still beat Monroe

Because we do not want a 2-way tie with ASU we DO want a 3-way tie between UL-ASU-Monroe.

Because no matter what else happens we MUST beat Monroe! We do not want our needed victory over Monroe to be their 3rd loss, we wnat it to be their second.

If we can count on North Texas to defeat ASU then a victory over Monroe would do it.

However if ASU wins we need Monroe to win as well. Except when they play Louisiana.

We needed TROY to beat Ark State last night. That would have taken out all of the complication...........& Turb, how did you like that injected, double seasoned, cooked in foil chicken breast last night??

If Monroe losses another game they will have at most 5 wins, meaning they are not bowl eligible. If the Sunbelt committee uses that to exclude Monroe from the 3 way tie for the N.O. bowl then Ark. St. goes. I think our only hope is for N.T. to beat Ark. St. . Correct me if I am wrong.

PS. Of course we have to beat Monroe.

north texas went to the n.o. bowl with 5 wins a few years ago; apparently the 6 win criterion is for an-large as opposed to 'win-in' team.
