Once again, black is not our colors, black for trim is ok but not our jerseys.
Geaux Cajuns
All black would be awesome on occasion. I like how they change up the uniforms. Change is good folks...go with it.
if we have all black on in the bowl game, it would be awesome, bc we are in a bowl game. Also, best season in 20 years and involve black helmets and pants. I'm totally ok with it
Change is good, we need to keep kids motivated with the current trends.... Too many "old school" fans want to live in the past with the jerseys from the 1970's. We need to allow and embrace change, do what is best for the program. If that means getting black pants, helmet, and jerseys to intrest a top recruit to come then so be it!!
Let me 'splain some stuff to you.
First of all, us "old school" fans go by another name too, alumni.
As alumni, the vast majority of us have supported our university through good times and bad times for several decades, and did this while the school had the same jersyes.
Those "1970's" jerseys you cite were actually put in place in 1975. "CAJUNS" was added on the front of the jersey in 1982. It stayed that way until 1999. That is 24 years. The Cajuns' record of achievement during that time frame dwarfs anything accomplished in the entire history of the program outside of that time frame.
Secondly, the idea that a recruit will pick a university because of their trendy uniforms is the biggest load of crap here. Home crowds and dynamic coaches like we've had this season gets you recruits.
Lastly, you cite the black helmets and pants as good things. Using your logic, we should be undeated in those. We are 1-2 this season in black gear, 7-1 without.
Notre Dame probably has the most tradition in college fball history. Even they are going with untraditional unis. Change happens folks.
