Thread: Can old wins improve with age?

  1. UL Football Can old wins improve with age?

Now that they are both ranked in the top-20 how do you feel about old wins over Kansas State and Houston?

Well if you package it the right way --it is extremely impressive---"You know Mr. Recruit, the Cajuns have been awfully close to breaking through to a new era in football---We have been Bowl eligible for the last 3 or 4 out of 6 years---And it wasn't just the # of wins that were of significance but WHO we beat--2 of those wins were over top 20 ranked teams----But now the ceiling has been broken and we are in the Bowl and we will have the greatest recruiting class in the history of the school and you will be a part of it------We have a great conference that is better ranked each year and it is great to know that now we are gonna go to a Bowl every year!!!!

The A&M win suffered with age.

And if UL wasn't having the success it is having, I would be depressed at 2 former defeated opponents turning the corner like they have.

Instead all three seem to be on the same arc.

If UH wasn't ranked then as they are now, how can that increase the value of a win then?

Ever face a good opponent and they look back 100 years and say "you have never beat us."

Houston can't say that (recruiting) plus they were not a bad team at the time.

It also tells me if UL could beat them then (recent past) and they were able to get much better "quickly" then the sky is the limit for UL.
