Saturday completely sucked....

Bear--Marlin is trying a lot of combinations early and the cohesiveness is not there yet-- we have a very athletic group and NDSU is very methodical so we need to be methodical too and this will take time---we'll do better than last year when the regular rotations get set. Football just ran out of gas. This has been a very emotional season with a high-powered head coach making a statement. If the lessons stick and the right athletes come in we will continue to fill the stadium(that felt good). If the past 55 years of my history mean anything--the next few years will be the best, then we will plane out again.

You call it what it was. It sucked. I'm not saying life is terrible but the bottom line is the day sucked. We lost our chance at winning the title in football and got skull drug by a pretty average basketball team. At least the UFC fight was good and I got to cookout at the house but for a Cajuns fan, it wasn't a good day.

New to these parts? Walk on in football in 1972, coordinator of on campus recruiting in football from 1986 to 1993 and also coached the kickers and punters during that same period. I am fully aware of they thpe of coaches we have hired lately. I consider this entire football staff the best from top to bottom that I have seen at this University. Coach Marlin is a great hire and will get it done. It was not a good day yesterday...period. The season has been a fantastic turnaround. As a high school football coach in Louisiana, I could have used my LHSAA membership to enter UL games for free but chose instead to purchase priority seating because it is important to support this University in every way that we can. I was speaking only of one day...not a season. Hud has gotten to know me and so has Marlin....they know where I stand.

We had a bad day. But...

We have a football team that at the start of the season was expected by the national media to go 2-10 or worse that was playing for the conference championship and will be going to a bowl and we have a talented basketball team that at the second game of a 30 game season showed issues that can be fixed through coaching and hard work.

Yep, we had a bad yesterday. But unlike past seasons, we still have reasons for hope once we get through that bad day. It's a good time to be a Ragin' Cajuns fan.
