Thread: Cajuns Aim for winning record (at home) on TV

  1. UL Football Cajuns Aim for winning record (at home) on TV

Saturday's University of Louisiana football contest against Florida International was moved back two hours just prior to the start of the season, to accommodate a television broadcast that covers most of Florida.

Comcast Sports Southeast will televise the game, which will officially kick off at 6:07 p.m. CSS-TV is available in Louisiana only on satellite.

The game will be the Ragin' Cajuns' seventh game this season to be televised in some form. Two previous home games and three games overall were part of the ESPN Plus package, the game at Arkansas State aired on ESPNU, the opener against Texas was on Fox Sports Net and the home opener against Northwestern State was a local broadcast over KLAF-TV.

UL's regular-season finale on Nov. 26 at UL Monroe will also be a part of the ESPN Plus package despite its move back from an originally-scheduled Nov. 19 date.

COX Sports Television (channel 27 on the Lafayette cable) announced this week that it would pick up that 2:30 p.m. broadcast on Nov. 26 from Monroe.

INJURY UPDATE: The Cajuns had three upgrades and one downgrade on its official injury report Wednesday, but one spells trouble against FIU's strong pro-style passing attack.

Cornerback Michael Adams, who has been struggling with leg injuries much of the season, is listed as doubtful with a sore knee. Adams had his second interception of the season last Saturday at North Texas, a theft that set up the Cajuns' second touchdown.

There was better news for linebacker Tre' Green, safety Lamar Morgan and running back Caleb Rubin. All moved from questionable to probable for Saturday's game. Green has been battling turf toe, Morgan is nearing full recovery from a badly lacerated leg suffered at Middle Tennessee and Rubin's nagging hamstring injury has improved over the last two weeks.

The only players definitely out for Saturday are wide receiver Ray Givens (shoulder) and linebacker Wes Simon, who continues to have problems related to a concussion suffered against Central Florida.
