I remember watching an interview with the NO Bowl head on tv3 the next morning ... I heard him say that we had more ticket reservations (at that time also) than they had EVER SOLD to one team, total ticket sales!

Now it was early, but that is what I heard. I would expect more info to come out after the bowl game is over by their committee.

    Geaux CAJUNS!

We seriously look forward to the game... as you can imagine. I was guessing from the start that SDSU would bring between 3k and 5k. I think you're ticket sales concept with the Marshall Faulk Foundation is a winner.

Hillman is our biggest concern. We had a serious problem with a similar scat back in WKU's Rainey. I think we've made a personnel change as of late that is going to help us. When Hillman gets past the line, he may take a pop he's never experienced. We shall see. Our DL as a pass rushing unit has been helter skelter. We did better earlier in the season, but I think it had more to do with matchups at the line late in the season. Personally, I think you're going to depend heavily on Hillman... and we know it. I hope you're coach tries to overthink it and opens up early with passing. You don't want to play around with our defensive secondary. They will pick your QB at will.

Our offense depends a lot on our starting QB. He is a good passer and a good runner. Bigger than either of those two assets, his desire cannot be measured. He is a warrior. Our passing targets are phenomenal. If SDSU cannot put pressure on our QB... we're going to light it up. We also have a 6'6" very athletic first/second round NFL TE that is as good a receiver as any you've ever seen. He was injured for the better part of this year, but will likely be 100% for the bowl game. As great as our WRs have been this year, having him back to 100% is a tremendous advantage for us.

Our running game is good... again... if our QB is on the loose. We have a really solid freshman RB... good size and speed... and really good instincts for a freshman. We depend on the pass opening up the run for us. Our platoon of RBs are night and day from each other in styles. It will be interesting to see how we utilize their strengths against SDSU.

Most schools don't brag heavily on their kicker... but we have a really good one. He's deadly on FGs from any reasonable distance and he doubles as a punter. He's fantastic at pinning teams deep inside their own territory. You are also going to have to be concerned on every kickoff. You absolutely never know what we might do. It is not going to be as if we've decided early in the contest that we have to deploy some trickeration. Our coach may toss something at you anywhere in the ballgame.

It's interesting that you say that SDSU generally comes out slow but picks it up in the second half. UL is all about conditioning and out performing the opponent, especially late. I have a lot of respect for what your team has done this year. It will be interesting to see this matchup.

We won't have 10,000 at that game. Now we may sell 10,000 tickets.

-On Hillman and his backup Muema. I think they are going to have big days. But a lot will depend on if our passing game gets untracked early.

-I have heard about your interceptions. That is a problem for us. Lindley often make bad or should I say "odd" decisions that leads to interceptions. On the other hand, he will come up with some big plays that will kill teams. Ryan has a shotgun for an arm.

-The punting game? Wow, should be one heck of a battle. Our punter is very good too. Maybe not the type of punter that pins people well, but what a leg.

-Kickoffs...We have one of the strongest lickoff guys in the game. More often than not, returners do not even bring it out of the end zone. Now, I haven't seen him kick off in a Dome, but Qualcomm is one of the hardest places in the nation to get distance on kickoff and he does it there.

-I think our defense is going to give you fits, but they are also susceptble big plays. Should be interesting.

My overall all take on this game is...IF our receivers have a good day catching the ball, Lindley and Hillman will be hard to stop. Aztecs wins by 10.

IF our receivers don't have a good day catching the ball, it goes right down to the wire.

Didn't your QB only throw like 5 ints the entire year? I don't think he's too prone to poor decisions...lol.

I think that both qbs are very efficient and I have the feeling that one of them will be tested quite a bit in this game. I think whichever QB has the better game, that team will win. I just hope its ours.

At what point can someone just walk up to the ticket window and buy a ticket without having to make 2 trips to the ticket office? We are a week away from the game one would think you would no longer have to fill out the order form and wait for a call.
I'm not sure, but I think we only got a limited set of tickets to the bowl. I know we had an initial set and immediately asked for a second set. Those handled most of the pre-orders and early sales. I believe we have ordered additional sets, but they may not be on hand. That being said for new ticket orders, there ARE some serious glitches in the process for those who ordered tickets way ahead of time, but had to wait until recently to actually pick up tickets. I am confident that those issues will be corrected for our next bowl game.

I'm not sure everyone that has ordered tickets has theirs yet. Those folks have to get theirs before they can sell them when you walk up. Otherwise, they'll run out of tickets before they get to the end of the list of people who have reserved those tickets. You fill the reservations before you allow walk-up purchases. if I go to a hotel that is booked with reservations, they'll turn me away even if they have 20 empty rooms.

That said, I like learning new things, like how to administer bowl tickets. Easy for me to say.... I have my tickets

The dome holds somewhere around 65,000. So they should have about 35,000 seats to sell to anyone how would like a ticket. So what's the deal about filling out a form and wait for a call. Give my break.

Everybody - you can go to Ticketmaster or the Superdome and walk away with tickets anytime. But UL does NOT get any credit (or money) for that. If you want the money to go to UL, then you HAVE to go through the UL process. The problem is, in part, that UL only has ON HAND a very limited number of tickets. They can't just spit out a ticket on demand. Now, have there been some problems with ticket distribution for the tickets they DO have? Yes. But for some reason, a lot of people seems to think that you can just walk up, fork over some money, and walk away with tickets in hand right there, just like it was a game at Cajun Field. This is a different process. It is very obvious that we haven't been to a bowl game since Moses was a small boy...
