I want to get a job writing for bleacher report, I'd be good at writing articles with no factual backing made up of complete bull

    1) In our 3rd year. Came with Rocky Long as he was hired by Hoke to be the DC, he is our HC and continues to wear the DC hat. Love it! It takes smallish, quick athletes to run, a couple of years to undersand and is a bear for any OC. Our LB's are stellar (the Hairy guys-lol) and our DB's play at time as good Cover 1 as anyone in the nation.

    2) Burner yet can jam it in hard and will. Kid is special and we have had some real special RB's in the past 20 years. A very patient runner whom knows how to follow his blocks and burst.

    3) I bet about 10K. Short notice, lots of Xmas bills, we are a fair traveling team (as of today we are in the Big East so that better improve). Big push for contributions from those of us not going to send $ to support NO kids. Mine is sent.

    4) ST- Jeckle and Hyde. Abel will knock the ball through the endzone and miss a 20 yard FG. Punting-our guy is a Ray Guy finalist- he kicked a 70 yarder (maybe 80 cant recal) last year in Wyoming (yes 7200' el) that essentially saved the game.

Note- your HC is very impressive and I am delighted you will retain him and build your program. Ours did more with less at New Mexico for a decade than perhaps everyone in the MWC excluding Air Force with Fisher De'Berry at HC.

I'll have to skip it if they just attract people who care about how long you have been listening to them and whether you know to leave off the "the" when writing about the Givers. Oh I mean Givers.

These tickets are being sold on a priority basis, and how many regular season tickets you may have has nothing to do with how many you may want. I have two regular season tickets and bought 8 early. It took over a week from the invitation bash for me to get mine, and they are pretty good seats. Point is each sale has to be a custom sale, as the tickets are already printed. Someone has to actually decide who gets to sit where depending on numbers requested, and other issues.

Point is that it is not as easy as you seem to think. If it were then everything would be OKDOKY
The problem is, if we would have been invited on this past Sunday there is no way they could have done it the same way. On the other hand, why is it when I made my reservations for four tickets THE NEXT MORNING AFTER YOU COULD MAKE RESERVATIONS, (I'm thinking that's pretty early) when I get my four tickets they are on Row 11 of section 135 (end zone corner not exactly behind the team). This is not my definition of best available when a 300 level seat BEHIND THE TEAM would be more desirable. If I hadn't promised my brother the tickets I would have thrown them away and be staying home and watching on TV, because, to me, lower is not better. (I am still in the market for better seats even if it's on the other side BECAUSE I WANT TO WATCH THE GAME not say that I was there.)

As for "not as easy as you might think". Why not sell our allotment of tickets through Ticketmaster and let them handle everything, price the best seats accordingly and let the free market work. The sooner you buy, the better you get for the price you want to pay. Any other performance or event at the Cajun Dome, Super Dome, or for that matter the Metropolitan Opera, works that way, I don't see why it can't work for a the New Orleans Bowl.

If you sell your allotment through Ticketmaster, that is it, after those are gone you can't sell any more for the 50/50 split.

  7. Default Latest on New Orleans Bowl Ticket Sales?

Anyone hear anything new on N.O. Bowl Ticket Sales, are we up over 15K? I sure hope the dome has more than 40K there. Otherwise it will look empty.

Since when does an Athletic Department send you tickets on their dime, or Cajundome Ticket office for their concerts give you free shipping. I admit, their needs to be a better way, but HEY, it is our first time in 41 years, and you people want to blast the RCAF and Athletic Ticket Office. Do you really think that you aren't gonna get your tickets in time. NOT.
Just imagine if we had a request for 30,000 tickets. Hey, the options are simple, order thru RCAF or order thru New Orleans Bowl, most of us ordered thru UL so they( the Athletic Department) would benefit on the sales/monies.

We are experiencing growing pains. I remember, one game there was not enough, water, soft drinks, concessions open, security, staff, and so on. With the growth, comes problems and I have to admit, I have been one who has complained and issued my complains in a note to the athletic department. they responded with an answer. If you are not afraid of voicing your complaints to the higher ups, then do it. I believe they will respond in a way that you will accept. They also listen to recommendations of how to improve game day.
We have a good thing going so lets try and stay positive and wait to see what happens for NEXT YEARS BOWL GAMES.

    GEAUX CAJUNS.

Those damn sleeves look horrible on tv. I hope they don't go with the red jerseys, because the sleeves end up looking pink. The black would be much better.

I placed an order for my tickets when the University first announced they would begin taking deposits. I was called about 1 1/2 weeks ago to go and pick up those tickets. During that phone call I asked for 3 additional tickets and was told those would be processed as a different order and those tickets would not be next to those in my initial order. That is understandable. However, I still have not recieved a call for my second order of tickets.

I agree with some of the posters that this is more of a FIRST TIME learning curve, rather than a SMALL TIME operation. I know that Scott Farmer has been involved with selling Bowl tickets on a couple of occassions while he was at Troy. I'm sure he had a good plan in place, based on his previous experience. However, the volume of tickets purchased by Troy fans during his tenure there is no where near the volume that UL fans are purchasing. Therefore, the model he brought over from Troy probably did not quite work as well here as it did there. I am confident that next season, when tickets for our Bowl game go on sale, the process will have been refined and will work a lot smoother.

We need to remember, this is a new experience for all of us. Geaux Cajuns!!!!!!!!!
