I am pretty sure that there is a bowl being created geared to their fans. It will be in West Virgina. The Goat Bowl will be for goat lovers, and they have absolute faith that a bow eligable WKU will bring more goat lovers than any school in the whole USA.
This is just not right fellas. If you're going to post references to WKU like this, you should always post a link for the consumer to refresh his/ her memory about such reference. Or at least remind those of us not so familiar with why all the Goat bowl references. As for my opinion, Screw them. I'm glad they're ticked off & hope they swill on it all year. Would love to knock them out of the NCAA toruney in every sport including curling.
That is correct. WKU is always going to be tough competition in athletics (Rainey or no Rainey). If this is about our NO Bowl invite, however, I think they need to check the reality of the situation.
If you put 29k average attendance, in a 5 home game season with no opponents that even get the fanbase stirred up, following a 3-9 season, when you are ranked at the very bottom of the stack, and you buy out bowl deposits in excess of 6000 before you have the official invite, and you're 8-3 for the first time in a very long time... and you've been told by the NO Bowl that with 6 win bowl eligibility "you are going to get our invite"... and they know you put 15 to 20k in the Superdome for a nonconference regular season game against Tulane many moons ago... twice... is there any doubt that UL and the NO Bowl of 2011 were destined to match up?
WKU needs to have more than 18,000 show up for their homecoming game. Close losses early in the year hurt them as well. They remind me of the 2005 UL team that closed the year with a bunch of wins. They are hot and no one wants to play them but they may not have done enough early in the year to get to a bowl game.
I contacted the ticket office this moring. The person I spoke to acknowledged my prior deposit, and said I would be contacted in the next sevral days about the tickets purchase. He said since I made an early deposit I would be amoung those who get the first options.
My thinking is this:
Level of RCAF who put options purchase in will get first dibs.
Next group non RCAF who made deposits first
The next group are first come first served.
