At the QB Club today Scott Farmer explained that the school will roll out instructions on what you need to do to get tickets NEXT WEEK.

I think we can all wait a week, right?

What if we get invited to another bowl, say the GoDaddy in Mobile on Jan. 8th?

    Will not happen.

New Orleans gets to pick before godaddy. Case closed.

Jay, out of curiosity, what determines the order in which they pick? Does New Orleans always pick before GoDaddy?

Yes. New Orleans gets the first pick. They are obligated to take the champion two times every four years. Even though FIU was the designated champion last year, they were co champions with Troy. Therefore, the NO bowl selection of Troy fulfilled the requirement that they take the champion (in this case, co-champion.)

FYI, the reason for the tie-breaker when you have co champions is that SBC bylaws state the designated champion MUST be accomodated in a bowl game.

Default Tips & Tricks: A way to get FREE PARKING New Orleans

Just a heads up fellow Cajun fans you can park for FREE, for 24 hours, in the Harrah’s parking garage if you play for 30 minutes. Most hotels charge $30 bucks per night, or more, to park and you know you are going to go to the Casino anyway over the weekend. Just pick up a “Players Club” card in the Casino after you park (if you don’t already have one) and stick it in any machine. My wife loves the penny machines (Got to love her). Play on a machine or any combination of machines for 30 minutes then go to the kiosk/free parking machine to redeem your free 24 hour parking pass.

This is the only way I know to win at a Casino.

If you are planning to be in New Orleans over 24 hours ease your car around the block or go to your favorite restaurant before the first 24 hours are up and repeat all the above.

After 6 ½ years and many $$$$ paying for my daughter’s UL college education this tip and Zing Zang are the only two things I have to show for it to date. I will add, she graduates in December and is already employed the first Monday in January. YES! You have to love UL. Their students can get jobs.

Clever name, "naF"! Yeah, I learned that Harrah's trick a few years back when I had jury duty in NOLA. Plus, the penny slots ARE fun!

Only problem with parking at Harrah's is that you'll still have to find a way to the game, unless you really feel like hiking about a 1/2 mile (maybe more) to the 'Dome!!

Did not know that. If stAte doesn't blow up to finish the season that tip will come in really handy. I plan on being in Mobile January 8 and slide over for the BCS championship on January 9. None of the hotels want to sell you one night during a big event like that and I don't want to pay for a hotel room in Mobile AND an empty one in New Orleans for the same night.
