If we sell enough tickets, don't be surprised if they do open up the third level this time around.

These aren't the ones I bought (haven't bought any yet, still waiting on some friends to confirm), but this is a sample of the seats listed. GNAD I assume means General Admisson. This does not correspond with the seating chart for the Saints games. Anyone know the deal here?
I was thinking the same thing. My wife will not go if we don't have an isle seat. My guess is seating for a college game has never been an issue in the Super Dome.

One problem with football is that you simply don't... and never will... have the parity in athletes that you can still have in basketball... and baseball. I think baseball is the easiest to accomplish parity... mainly in that so many of the elite pitchers get snatched up before they make it to college. In football, it is extremely difficult... with the money imbalance... to achieve the parity necessary.

Another problem is that it is one bowl and done. The other sports actually allow you to start off in a playoff... at a much lower rung... and attempt to climb that ladder. In football, you end the season at some point in the ranking... and the bowl is it. You can't really say that this bowl appearance compares to x level in the NCAA basketball tourney... or x level in the baseball tournament. You get to advance if you win. This bowl is one and done.

I'm just excited about being in a bowl. And since football drives that athletic bus... all UL sports now have a lot more competent driver.
Right now it's the biggest atheletic accomplishment in school history. Why? Because it's the most recent biggest hill to climb that's never been climbed before by the school. Next, It should be whatever great accomplishment which ever sport accomplishes, that it has never accomplished before. That's the great thing about comparative analysis. One can use whatever prism to look through to make comparrisons that they desire.

    All valid points.

New question: What is your excitement level about the bowl invite in comparison to the CWS, winning an NCAA basketball tourney game, and the WCWS?

    I'd say:
    1. CWS
    2. Bowl game
    3. Basketball tourney win
    4. WCWS (and again, kudos to the ladies and the Lotiefs for making that one not so surprising anymore)

Yeah, they have never sold out a Sugar Bowl or BCS championship game at the Superdome before so they don't know what they are doing in NOLA for any college football games.

It's UL's first trip to a bowl game in 41 years and you might not go if you can't sit in an aisle seat???

    C'MON MAN!!!

Stay at home and watch it on TV then!!!

I would agree with this ranking although I am having a hard time with 3 and 4. I think I would have them switched.

Any idea of how many people can sit in the first 2 decks of the dome combined?

Ok, the confusion continues.....Does Anyone have a physical ticket in their hand?... I called today to get tics and was put on the list.. Jay just said on his show just now you can walk up and get a ticket... I don't think they are right.. he needs to interview the head of the box office to clear everything up..... I understand they have to place those that have put down a deposit first... so, how can they sell tickets before those seats are filled?.. unless they are gen admission.. the tic guy told me the 62.00 tics are VERY limited and are being reserved for VIP's then whatever's left over will be sold.. if any.. anyway... that's my take.....
