Default Need Help: NOLA Bowl Watch Parties in Lafayette

A friend is doing a story on the local folks that can't make it to New Orleans. Anybody know of any watch parties?

I would bet there will be some folks at Walk On's and/or Pete's, but I don't know as I'll be in New Orleans.

If anyone knows of any local parties for the game, would you please post the info in this thread? Thanks!

I didn't know about SDSU having to take finals at the hotel, interesting. With that said, I've thought for a while about Rocky Longs bowl history, its less than stellar and I've been saying that certain coaches have a hard time getting their teams up for these games. Now, will Hud be better at it? I don't know, but we do know Long's history.

I plan on hitting up some poker @ Harrah's in the morning for an hour or two to get my free parking

  6. UL Football 41 Years and not counting . . .

You know it is what it is, so lets just enjoy the end of the streak.

However, but, except, (this isn't directed at anyone, not even the writers) it's just that I have read it so many times in the past few weeks I thought I would mention.

Based on current criteria, UL has been bowl eligible . . .

5 times in the last 10 years.
8 times in the last 20 years.
14 times in the last 30 years.
18 times in the last 40 years.
19 times from bowl to bowl.

UL is not your average bowl drought team.

I don't understand how they have the games in this article ranked, if that's what it is. I also find it interesting that this guy seriously thinks the nechs will beat TCU...

The ranking is his confidence level that his favorite will win.. Based on a 1-35 system where the 35 is the highest confidence and 1 is the lowest.

  9. Default Sharper talk fits for both UL, SDSU

SDSU’s Aztecs, despite their more nationally-known name than the home-team Ragin’ Cajuns, have never been to two straight bowl games. That streak ends in just over 24 hours. The UL squad has never appeared in any Division I bowl game. That drought gets ...

Yeah, it always annoys me when some writers call us an SBC bottom-dweller. Some years that may be true, but generally not. We've been middle of the pack often, and occasionally challenged (unsuccessfully) for the top.
