Too bad it isnt being seen in the Times-Picayune. At least it is not in their online edition. The New Orleans media or at least the TP seems to take this Bowl and it's economic impact for granted.

Apparently there are extra costs associated with opening the upper level (security, ushers, cleaning, etc.) that the Bowl has never had to face.
Not anymore. Check out Newcopy thread concerning the 3rd level. It is now officially open!

You are correct. Of all the places mentioned in this thread mothers, deanie's and landry's are all tourist traps and over rated.
Domilise's is a solid choice. For poyboys I would also suggest Mahoney's on magazine, Parkway on s. Jeff Davis, Tracy's and
    Parasol's.

Nothing today, but on the front page I found out Jesuit soccer had a shoot out to settle a game.

    That was for Boomer's benefit.

I understand LTU offered the BlueJay golie a schlorship if he refuse to visit UL. LOL

Hammer this is nothing new this bowl is not treated well by the media.

They need to get on board. It might be a minor bowl in their eyes, but it will have a major impact on their economy. If they don't promote it like it should be, then shame on them.

It may not be, but it's going to be hard not to look at 42k+ in attendance. I expect this bowl to fare better in the media next year. I also expect CUSA to be looking elsewhere for their 5th tie-in after snubbing the bowl twice. The Hawaii experience won't be as good as they would've gotten with a packed Superdome for S.Miss-Louisiana, either.

Just for you RC90. The teams for the national championship games have been awarded 17k seats each.

Reading various bowls I think UL and it's fans did not only OK, good, but frigging great. VT having problems selling it's allocated seats in a freaking BCS bowl with Michigan.

Your question poses a subtle shot at UL, and it's fans. We know from your history you are all in except if it costs anything at all.

Just think about it. This particular NOLA Bowl game could be the catalyst for turning this bowl game into one of the better bowl games in the future, in the media's eyes. And it all started with UL.

And the bowl has known this for the last 10 years!!!

In all fairness, I'm not sure a 6-6 team, even with Tyrell Fenroy and the gang, would have generated this much buzz for a bowl game. It's all coming together at the right time. I wish they got their much-deserved bowl trip. But overall, it's coming together at a magical time.
