Default From the Bird's Nest: Don't look for a bowl announcement anytime soon.

Louisiana’s win over Louisiana-Monroe Saturday afternoon was their eighth of the year. But there has been no announcement of a bowl bid for the Cajuns.

Question Jay... In the event of the three way tie, would the New Orleans Bowl fully fulfill their obligation for the 4 year span by picking the Cajuns? Or does it have to be an outright champ for them to get credit for taking the "champion"?

The only thing wrong with your scenario is number two whould be number one in the story. Thanks for the explanation, I think.

They would get credit for taking the champion, as they did last year when they chose co-champion Troy, even though FIU got the auto bowl bid.

Well, we've waited 41 years ... I guess we can hold on for another few weeks. ;>)

Perhaps the SBC needs a 3rd bowl tie in, rather than a contingency. The bowl in Birmingham is in close proximity to several Belt schools, as is the Independence. If schools will schedule in an appropriate fashion, then 3 eligable teams will be easily accomplished.
