Louisiana-Lafayette finished third in the Sun Belt with a 6-2 conference record but got the New Orleans Bowl bid (tickets, please) ahead of second-place Western Kentucky, which finished 7-1 and beat the Ragin’ Cajuns by 19. NFL prospects to ...
Got word that our order came in today. Will be in section 155. I'm happy. From what I hear anything in the end zones are good.
This is not Charles Lindburgh flying solo across the Atlantic. It's been done before, by others, so there is a body of knowledge out there that, obviously, was not tapped. I think they should have started investigating how to do this with other schools as soon as we became bowl eligible. It's only two weeks between the New Orleans Bowl and the official bowl invites (last Sunday). It has taken them over three weeks to get to this point and some people STILL don't have tickets. If SDSU is doing this the same way their folks are really screwed.

Gautier has a good game and it will be close. If he is off, it could get ugly.
I found a nice one at Walgreens for 12.99. No peppers. No '-Lafayette'. No yellow.
I think the deposit-taking was initially done to "prove" to the bowl that we could have serious interest in our fan base attending a bowl game. Although we were pretty sure we were gonna get an invite from the NO Bowl, I think they didn't want to take any chances, given our past history of missing out on bowl invitations. And as a precaution in case the NO Bowl decided to go elsewhere, to make us attractive to another bowl. On the other hand, the ticket distribution system seems to have had quite a few problems. I do think that Scott Farmer and staff will do a post-mortem review to assess changes for next time/year.
I don't mind being part of the learning curve. I guess I'm saying that because I have good seats :P
When getting a bowl bid comes down to a coin flip, the deposit system can win you the bowl bid.
