What color combination will Coach Hud go with for the New Orleans Bowl, I wonder? Any one with inside information, please let us know.
thanks
If the New Orleans Bowl has a contract with CUSA for the 5th pick, then why did they "have" to take SDSU? No one went to the BCS. Houston,USM,Tulsa,Marshal,SMU. That's 5. I'm perfectly fine with the choice, and actually prefere it to Marshal.
C'mon, Z!!! You know the tanktoppers can't enjoy their sucess unless they are putting others down. Just being the best team in the country isn't good enough for them. It means nothing to tanktoppers unless they can get in someone else's face and insist that fan's team's success isn't good enough. Of course, back in the days of Hallman and DiNardo just making a bowl would have ben trumpeted as evidence of their greatness. Now it means nothing because its others doing it.
Power Ranger Uni's just like Georgia had against Boise earlier this year. Lol probably the Red and Black since we'll be the home team
I think the keys are going to be:
Defensively--Contain their all world RB Ronnie Hillman, I don't think we can stop him, but I do believe we can keep him controlled and most importantly out of the End Zone. If we can hold them to FG, they stuggle in that department. Their kicker has only hit 5/13 this year including 3-5 from 20-29 yards. Secondly and this is a big one, don't let the QB have time, we are going to have to get pressure on the QB, it is going to be big for Bernard Smith to come hard on most plays. And finally Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers. The secondary is got to step up big time in this game.
Offensively--we will be able to move the ball against them, Blaine needs to run the sprad to perfection, our running game will get better if Blaine can run the ball well and make a balanced attack with him throwing and running and mix in a steady dose of Harris. Limit turnovers and control the clock. And finally a little trickidation from coach Hud, in the special teams area or on 4th downs.
I am exicted to see this game, I think it is going to be similar to the Zona game, but with a different outcome. I predict Cajuns 42 Aztecs 34.
Is this your guess, or something you know?
I think (I hope) we might be surprised by the number of fans SDSU will bring to NO. Like the Cajuns, this bowl stuff is not a regular thing for them either (although this will be their second bowl trip in the last two years). I think that the opportunity to come to New Orleans, and play in the Superdome against a team with the best nickname in college sports, will entice a few more of their fans to travel to this game than if they were sent to Boise, Birmingham or some other less desirable destination. Another good thing is that the game will be played on December 17th, thus being a little less disruptive to many family Christmas plans. I am hoping that SDSU will have at least 5000 fans enjoying New Orleans with the 25,000+ Cajun fans.
