Ratings won't be as bad as playing a MAC program. The San Diego metro area has over 4 mil people in it, more then the state of Louisiana. If San Diego can travel a couple thousand, UL brings around 20,000 and they sell another 8,000 tickets in the New Orleans community, they could easily break the record of 30,000 attendance for the NO Bowl. Not as bad as you think.
