Great news, the women's team is coming along under the direction of our new coach.

The men are going to be strong again this season and now our women can contend for the SBC championship.

    Geaux Cajuns.

I just wish someone would put an updated roster and schedule on our damn website.

My goodness we still have 2005 roster and 2004 results.

    WHERE ARE OUR SID's????

    Both programs are moving up.

We have had trouble getting tennis information in the Lafayette Advertiser.

I do not know exactly where the trouble is, but it is something that we have been trying to solve for the last 2 1/2 years.

When I run into old friends in Lafayette and tell them about the tennis program, they ALWAYS TELL ME THAT "WE NEVER SEE ANYTHING IN THE PAPER ABOUT UPCOMING MATCHES OR RESULTS. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOME TENNIS BUT THE PAPER NEVER HAS MATCHES LISTED".

I have already approached the SID office and they blew me off.

A good example was this past weekend for the Pepsi Challenge. To this day, there has not been any article nor any results of the matches in the paper. This was the best showing for the Lady Cajuns as a team in the last 5+ years.

More importantly, The Smith Family at Pepsi put their name and money on the line as the sponsor of the tournament. The athletic department should have had enough class to promote the contribution that Pepsi and the Smith Family made to this event. The Lady Cajun Tennis team is very thankful and apppreciative of Pepsi and the Smith Family.

We will continue to press on.

That is totally unacceptable. The Athletic Dept. HAS to do better than that. I know they are undermanned, but they have to be able to out info for ALL Ragin' Cajun athletic teams.

Glad to hear we have good sponsors to help out. A big "Thank You!" to Pepsi & the Smith family. Keep up the good work, Ted. I know from your playing days that you are a persistent, hard worker. I'm sure you'll get them to come around sooner or later. Good luck! And congrats to Kimmie on a fine tourney!

Even having an up to date and accurate web page would help. Rosters, schedules, coaches, events, etc,,, have been a major problem for a while. A possible recruits FIRST info about us these days is via the web, and we're not giving them anything to make them feel the teams are appreciated.

The new schedules and the rosters are up on the website. The men will again have a rough go of it on the schedule but we have Lamar, Southern, Oregon, Rice, UT-San Antonio, Iowa and UNO coming to town, not to mention road matches vs Florida Stae, Ole Miss, UT-Arlington, LSU, South Floria, Central Florida, Miami, BOise State, Middle Tennessee and Southern Miss. We also have neutral matches vs Oklahoma and South Alabama.

We play 10 of our 19 matches vs teams that finished in the top 75 last season:

    3 Ole Miss
    10 LSU
    13 Florida State
    31 Boise State
    36 Middle Tennessee
    38 Rice
    45 Oklahoma
    51 South Alabama
    64 Miami
    70 Oregen

The Women play home matches vs: SLU, La Tech, Nichols, SHSU, UT-San Antonio, Texas State and road matches vs: LSU, Southern, McNeese, USM, Lamar, FIU, FAU, South Alabama, UT-Arlington, UNT, Arkansas St. and UALR, with a neutral match vs Memphis.

The women play 4 of their 19 matches vs Top 75 oponennts including:

    27 South Alabama
    32 FIU
    44 LSU
    75 SLU

It should be a fun and interesting season. The roster is missing a couple of players I believe, but the majority of the men are there. Including our 5 returning players from last year. Ryan Hesse is on the roster but Mattieu Trong is not. This should be a fun year for the men and women, I highly recommend everyone come out and see your nationally ranked Ragin' Cajuns in competition, the seasons start on Jan 21st.

    Geaux Cajuns!!!
