College football's top kicking award, the Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award sponsored by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission recognizes three of the top kickers each week from FBS teams as the "Stars of the Week". This week the honor was bestowed upon Ragin' Cajuns kicker/punter Brett Baer.

What is so cool is (at least to my way of thinking) Brett has had much better weeks.

Spoke with Brett's dad earlier today and he told me that Brett was announced as a semi-finalist for the 2011 Lou Groza award. You can go to the link below and vote for him. What a great honor that we have 2 players mid-season on watch list (Green and Baer). Thanks for your help.

Yep, he's in 5th right now, just ahead of Drew Alleman by a few votes. But he is a long way from #3. Currently Brett has 44 votes and # 4 has 70. Numbers 1, 2, & 3 have the lion's share of votes so far. Let's get going Cajun fans and pick up the votes for Mr. Baer!!!

We got Hud to #4 coach of the year up to this point. I think we can get Brett in the lead, just vote everday when you vote for coach Hud.
