Question for you, do you think you'll be tempted to push the winner of the UL/ASU game next week into the top 25 poll?
With only 1 loss, the cajuns got a few votes in the harris poll two weeks in a row a few weeks back. This week with 2 losses, ASU got a vote in the coaches poll. Its not as unthinkable as you think. Not to mention, whoever would win, would have just beaten a 2 loss team in November with a conference championship on the line.
If the supposed...and traditionally strong...programs at the bottom of the rankings lose games, should they still be voted up there JUST because they always have been?
I always thought it should be based on wins and losses THIS YEAR...and not what you've done in the past.
For us to be one of those "other teams receiving votes" someone would have to have voted us in the top 25. Which means we got a vote or two but not enough to make the list. I agree I don't think we will get votes this season after the WKU loss.
11-2 with a bowl win. The WKU loss hurts, but they are 5-4 right now, we now have no losses to teams with losing records, and we have a win over a team with a winning record in FIU who was undefeated at the time we played them.
Also, a note in all of this, while Kent was bad to start the year, they have quietly won 2 in a row and are 3-6, and will probably be 4-6 next week because they play a bad Akron team next. It would look good on us if they could make a run and get to 6-6 by the end of the season.
