He's absolutely right. As I spend every home game night having dinner with players and their families this is true. They all noticed you leaving, they all noticed how quiet the fans became n the third period and wondered why. Your noise, your support in cheering them is motivation for them. Don't ever think it isn't. They appreciate you more then you can ever know so maybe next year don't give up on them...stay and be loud. They deserve it. Can't wait to leave on Friday for Arkansas. Can't wait to see them win this conference. Geaux Cajuns!!

Crowd mentality is really hard to gauge. Sometimes, when you think it's time to cheer or make noise, it stays quiet. Other times, it seems to swell all by itself. I agree that the crowd should help the team by doing whatever is needed to help - whether it is being loud for the defense or being quiet when we are on offense. I've been to stadiums across the country - college and pro, football and baseball. And crowds just seem to have a life of their own. A lot of that depends on the situation. Sometimes the team generates the excitement, sometimes the crowd just wants to will their team on. It's very hard to predict sometimes.

Noticed this as well... All I can say is that those that left missed the best finish to a game that I have ever witnessed in person! There's no doubt I had doubts as well when we went down by 11, but these guys never gave up and neither should the fans.

I think it has to be understood that some of the fans that left aren't "losers" as some people have stated here. I myself have been going to UL games since I was 3 and I'm 24 now. Last night after the interception and touchdown by ULM was the first time I left a game early. Call me what you want, w/e, but it's not because I'm not a good fan. It's specifically because, and I'm sure this is how a lot of others felt, we witnessed only 1, count it 1, good quarter of football from the Cajuns last night. You can say all you want but that is the absolute truth. We were in the thick of it for all of the 4th quarter but just couldnt produce at all against a VERY poor ULM team. And seeing absolutely nothing happening, piled on with Masson's pick and ULM's td late in the game, I just couldnt take seeing our team get embarassed like that by rednecks at our home.

Yall are acting like we had 2K fans left in the game. There was easily 12K+ still there. Kudos to yall for staying and cheering on the Cajuns, but i just couldnt take possibly seeing a loss like that at home to the HOAX. And I've regretted leaving the game early ever since listening to the finish on the radio. BTW, the whole entire last 30 minutes of the the game coverage/postgame coverage should literally be put up for an award for something.

Listen, screw those fans that left early to go watch the lsu-bama game, but dont call every single person who left the game a "loser". I love this team, sometimes a lot more than I should (girlfriend graduated from LSU so you can imagine...). I just couldnt bear to see our Cajuns getting slapped in the face like that at home by a team that didnt deserve it. I'm sure I'll get some flack from some of you guys but thats fine, cuz i know that my allegiance always has and always will lie with UL no matter what some might think of me.

You may be a UL fan, but you are still a king size loser if you walked out of that stadium with 5 minutes left last night if you weren't suffering from an appendix attack or worse. The sooner you admit your sin & repent publically for being a loser & a dunce last night, the sooner you will begin to feel the the refreshing cool waters of the Hudism flow over your wretched miserable losing soul & save you from your almost unforgivable negativity. Believe in the HUD & you shall walk in the valley of champioships. Otherwise your soul is doomed to football Hades.

I apologize for not stopping down at the bottom & hanging with the players & coaches a little afterward, but I was deleriously wandering out of the stadium with a crowd of people who were absolutely reborn in the spirit of WINNING. It was a pretty awesome feeling to be celebrating in a crazy frenzy with Cajun fans who haven't smiled & laughed like that in a pretty good while.

Did they notice the "white out" effect? How was KP after the game? I imagine it was a mix of very strong emotions. I noticed a lot of the seniors were slow to leave their home field for the last time. They seemed to be soaking up the scene and celebrating with each other. That's one I really missed at the end of my HS career - that locker room camaraderie that develops among the teammates. I imagine it is even stronger for college players because of the demands that college programs bring. Tell him congrats on the victory in his final home game and to keep focused on winning the last 2 regular season games! Wouldn't that be great to close out at 10-2? I know they can do it!

Many became used to a tennis tournament atmosphere. Last year we would have trouble getting many around us to get up and make noise on third downs. Now this year they are starting to get the hang of it and start standing and yelling on third downs. If you think back on it honestly I think you'll agree that the fans were still rowdy on third downs Saturday. Maybe next year we can get the noise level to start rising whenever the other team has the ball.
