In Hud we trust. but I wished that we didn't need to do this.
I thought Lance needed about 8 kickoffs to see what he could do.
But now that it appears to be a done deal, I hope Alverez has a BOOMING 4 game season.
You know, UL once went to a New Years Day Bowl Game in a 6 game season (counting the bowl) AND WON!
On the one hand, it may be a shame to have to use him for a handful of games...but on the other hand, if he can help us finish off a special season, it will be well worth it!
Absolutely had to. The ASU game will be for the conference championship. Can't go into that game giving the other team possession at mid field. Better off kicking the ball out of bounds and giving it up at the 40 rather than risking the ko return for touchdown. The was an absolute.
Mr Alvarez.... "time to geaux getchu' sum"
just do it.

A move we just had to make. Congratulations, Mr. Alvarez, and may all of your kicks make us all proud!
I bet he's fired up. He gets to play in one of the most pivotal seasons in UL history.
This move is really a no-brainer. He can always redshirt next year if need be.
Thank goodness Hudspeth yanked the redshirt off. The outcome may have been different this weekend if Baer or Kelley had to kick off with 1:00 left and up only 1 point.
