MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - So far in league play, the home field doesn't mean a lot in the Sun Belt Conference.
The University of Louisiana's 13-10 road win at Middle Tennessee Saturday is part of a trend in league play this year, with only three of the eight league teams winning on their home field during conference play.
Troy becoming the third to win at home with Thursday's 18-13 win over Florida International. UL Monroe (2-0) and Arkansas State (3-0) are the other teams with home wins, and overall league teams are 5-8 on their home fields.
The Cajuns lost their only home league game to Florida Atlantic 28-10 two weeks ago. Middle is now 0-2 in league home games, and in fact the Blue Raiders - winners of two straight on the road - haven't won any of their three Floyd Stadium games this year.
"This is so disappointing because we should win every game at home," said MT senior defensive lineman Quinton Staton. "We're winless at home and we've won two games on the road. How does that happen? I don't know."
With the Cajuns 0-2 in league play, quarterback Michael Desormeaux said that a win was paramount Saturday despite the site.
