I didn't get a chance to see or hear the game.. On Coach Hud's radio show he stated that Lance would either kick the ball into the endzone but most probably out of the edzone every time!... How did he do?..

I am just surprised that Brett Baer does not do a better job on kickoffs.

He said he's never kicked off before — not even in high school.

But with usual kickoff specialist Hunter Stover sidelined by surgery performed last week to repair a torn anterior cruciate knee ligament, and kicker/punter Brett Baer not fully healthy, linebacker Lance Kelley gave it a shot.

The rest of the story

My thought after his second one was he will get better and better as the night goes along. He was pulled after that. His first one was nerves, plain and simple. His second one was decent but perhaps due to hang time, the coverage wasn't there.

It seemed a lot like last year really.

They have to take the red shirt off Alverez. This isn't rocket science. If Alverez can't kick off then they need to recruit a top notch high school prospect next year. Either way they have to find out. You can't kick like that against ASU or Arizona or you're done thinking about the SBC championship & for sure a double digit win season. They have to have field kicking against higher level cometition.

I'd be surprised if they take the redshirt off Alvarez. He does not directional kick well and they are looking at high school kickers now that Stover is done.

He is hurt and that does limit his kicking but he also isn't very good at kickoffs. He kicked off for us last year and wasn't very effective.

I'd be surprised if they take the redshirt off Alvarez. He does not directional kick well and they are looking at high school kickers now that Stover is done.

Is this career ending or something for stover? He will be back next year right?

IBR, we got NO options...it is what it is...thats the way the ball bounces...thats the way the cookie crumbles...a stitch in time saves nine...a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush...if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle.

I'm not complaining or anything. I was just saying him being hurt isn't the only reason his kickoffs weren't great. This team just has to over come this. And who knows, maybe kelly will improve with more work.
