Thread: Injury report better

  1. Default Injury report better

After all, the Cajuns put up a season-high 540 total yards —_419 passing and 121 rushing. That surpassed the 459 total yards posted in the 37-34 win over Florida Atlantic on Oct. 1. There are, however, a few issues. For starters, that lofty ...

"As far as replacing Stover, however, Hudspeth wasn't as specific. Placekicker/punter Brett Baer might get some kickoff duties, but the coach hinted fans and media would be surprised by other options that might be revealed in Saturday's game."

Let's see...what other options would surprise fans? Perhaps they have discovered that Justin Vevable has been granted another year of eligibility and has been practicing kick offs? Or maybe Mr. Everything, Brad McGuire, is going to step up and kick it out of the end zone!

But they were trying him as at kickoffs; I wouldn't be surprised if this is what happens.

Brad did some punting in high school..............who know's........maybe he has that too??
Drove to the game saturday to watch a very flat team take the field. I was impressed with the number of fans that we had there........somewhere around 50 to 75. One thing about tickets at WKU, they put there opposing team in the endzone seats. Oh well we tried to make a lot of noice...thought we did pretty well. Now the refs were the same ol' SBC ref's ..they suck!
This week MTSU better watch out, my predictions is we come ready to play. Defense with 5 sacks and two interceptions. Offense; Blain has another stellar day throwing the ball and the running game shows up, special teams play will be outstanding. I am not driving this weekend so I will be here on the board listening to, and commenting on the game as we go.

This is from a story I wrote in August of 2009:

    Nice leg

The Cajuns worked Lance Kelley, a converted wide receiver now playing strong safety, as a kickoff specialist on Thursday.

Kelley was a jack-of-all-trades player during his prep career at St. Thomas More. The sophomore played in two games at wide receiver last fall before suffering a broken left fibula and torn ankle ligaments in the second game of the year at Illinois. After surgery, he was moved to defense in the spring.

"He's in the mix (for kickoffs)," Bustle said. "He came to me before we started practice and said he had been working on his kickoffs. I told him I would give him a chance, so I'm letting him do it a little bit."

The two kickers competing to do field goals and point-after attempts — redshirt freshman Brett Baer and junior Tyler Albrecht — are also fighting for kickoff duty. Albrecht has not been kicking recently due to a sore leg, Bustle said.
