The mistake (on purpose) Wright Waters made in 2005 was not determining a true conference champion based on all the preinstalled tiebreakers.
Hello, UL wins.
Instead he saw that ULM did not qualify for the postseason, so he decided not to determine a regular season champion based on all the tiebreakers AFTER the 3-way tie.
Then he ignored conference rules and jumped to bowl eligable and head-to-head.
Win 7.. go bowling.
Most pundits picked us to have no where near 7.
Win 7, stock up on better players than we have had in decades and build this thing from the ground up.
It's good to hear Qyen's concussion wasn't severe. I still doubt he's ready for this week. I think Lance is the mystery kicker. All in all, I agree with someone else's comments... we will double up on effort against MT. WKU simply had our number... again... and we didn't give the kind of effort that was required.
UL isn't going to blow anyone away in the SBC. We are in a fight each and every time. The key is that everyone on the team realizes that fact, and all of the hard work and dedication isn't squandered due to the early success.
I don't think UL slacked off because of the bowl hype and all of that nonsense. I do think 3 straight home games spoil you. WKU has all of the confidence in the world against UL... and they simply were the better team that day.
I stayed off this forum following the WKU game... because I get so aggravated at the way a lot of forum posters behave. I totally understand it. I just don't like putting up with it. I like to exchange with everyone... but when it goes rabid... there's no place to interject an opinion without going rabid yourself. I'm both an easy going person and a lunatic all built into one. I believe in being good to good people... and destroying bad people... my problem is figuring out which is which sometimes.
Anyhow... MT this week.
49-7 UL
During the game is like . . . living "In Tent City"
I don't know what that means, I just thought I would say it.
